How do I tell a menu made in flash to open a file in an external veiwer . I have a movie file that I don;t want to embed , but may need in order to make this work ...

Gets submitted on a CD .

Is the file an html file by chance? If so you can set it to open it in a _blank viewer. Perhaps you can simply embed the contents of any text file you have into the text field of a web page you code into your document, and then cause to appear?

For a multi media major, i suck at flash a of yet but...

As said, in html brower, have it open as a _blank

Other wise, have your movie clip as a listener. When you click your item to bring up the movie(in the same window, i hope) It should pop up.
