Hello guys :)

I am going to run some deadly+ encounters for my players in Friday.

I am looking for high CR for the non mooks enemies of the fights.

They are going to attack an enemy army artillery base.

I am looking for some high CR mages , archers and warriors stats block to use but most of them are of named NPCs and it is hard to find them on D&D beyond.
For example, when I search for archer I only get one option and I am sure there are same named NPCs stats block but I didn't found them yet.

For now I used the champion stat block for high level archers but I want something better.

I also look for some dragon themed enemies that are not dragons (I will probably use one or more half dragon but I am happy to get more ideas).

I will be happy to get your ideas.
I will also probably give them some high level magic items because I want my players to get a power up in tier 3 because the next chapter will be the end of the campaign(It will be a fight VS dragons)

Edit:
One encounter will be the enemies teleporting to their camp with time stop.
The second will be one or more(based on how quite they will be) fights in the enemies artillery base.

What sort of CRs are you looking for? Tier 3 says to me... high teens for a solo boss, probably lower teens for monsters fought as a group? The champion in Volo's is CR 9, so I guess we want things around that level as well.

I don't actually have too many humanoids in that range to offer, I'm afraid. I could probably write some if it turns out there's a gap in the market. What I do have is this elf warrior (https://nailsofvecna.tumblr.com/post/190213019530/the-feywild-has-no-supreme-government-united) that could be viable, if you want someone who specialises in parrying/disarming. I also made a version of Aqua from Kingdom Hearts (https://nailsofvecna.tumblr.com/post/167495807416/hey-could-i-ask-you-to-build-some-stat-blocks-for) (despite never having played it) that could be refluffed as a generic warrior mage. Might be too powerful though.

If magic items are important, maybe this antiquarian (https://mfov.magehandpress.com/2020/05/count-van-derhorne.html) could show his face...?

Also what's the setting like? When you say 'artillery base' that implies to me gunpowder artillery, since medieval siege weapons wouldn't really be associated with 'bases'. But then, you ask for 'archers'... :smallconfused: If it's a more modern setting, some of the other Hero Club NPCs could work. Like the Gentleman (https://mfov.magehandpress.com/2018/08/the-gentleman.html) or Hank Blackstone (https://mfov.magehandpress.com/2018/04/hank-blackstone.html).

MM pg 342 - Archmage CR 12
MM pg 343 - Assassin CR 8
Volo pg 209 - 220 various CR 8-12

Any of these (or PHB PCs) would be good starting points for creating mid level humanoid NPCs. Of note, PC's tend to be very high damage output, lower HP than traditional creatures / enemies so many DMs adjust PC stats down for legality and up for survivability to keep fights from being short and swingy.

BTW a dozen Martial Arts Adepts (Volo CR 3) can be a formidable mob of goons - stuns for everyone!

I really liked the champion, I may use one or two as the leading Teleporting encounter group.

The base is a temporary army base made of tents and some wooden lookout towers, that artillery is made of evocation specialists mages and magical siege weapons.

The settings is a regular medical midevil setting based on metal songs and the characters backstory.
The main difference is that lycntrops are blessed by the gods and act as religious figures, big parts of the world is controlled by titan level creatures and there are three large empires, a religious non race specific mostly human one, a dwarf manufacturing one and a wood elf trading one(which one of the PCs in a noble of and his house sent him to deal with the army dangerous bases).

To tell the truth I usually run them deadly times 3 encounters as we like highly tactical encounters between the deep roleplay (for some reason in the internet it looks like you can't get a war game and a story game at the same time)

Thanks, I will check those pages.

The scry and die encounter went great.

I used the Elf champion (https://nailsofvecna.tumblr.com/post/190213019530/the-feywild-has-no-supreme-government-united) but reduces his lagendery action to 2 and gave him the 120ft true sight item from the antiquarian (https://mfov.magehandpress.com/2020/05/count-van-derhorne.html) He was mind control by a 7 level spell and was a champion of thefey warlock patron, they were able to take him alive so now they have an ally and also need to save his two older brothers.
3 champion fighters
Archmage - died on the first round from the gloomstalker/fighter action surge+huntersmark+SS.
3 Half-Blue Dragon Gladiator
3 Half-Red Dragon Gladiator
3 Half-Green Dragon Assassin(with 60 true-sight)

one group was teleported on their camp in the night, a seacound group was teleported 30ft from there.
the attacker got no surprise round as the ranger use a rapier of warning.
The party rolled high on initiative and went before the attackers.

The Elf champion almost killed the Feywarlock before she teleported to the party Manticore and started to fly away, one of the Half-Green Dragon Assassin drooped her to 1 hp before she got out of range. she held concentration on hypnotic patterns and didn't fail without warcaster and without con prof.

was a nice way to level them to 11 just before a big fight.
