View Full Version : Pathfinder Trying to build Robo (Chrono Trigger) in PF1, need help

title says it all, i'm stumped, I've been working at this for about 4 hours on my own. 3.5 and 3pp is allowed if i have no other choices but i'd prefer first party if possible. any ideas? for race i was thinking of adapting warforged or using forgeborn from dreamscarred press. but as far as class and abilities go...nothing. thanks all

One idea I have had is to use brawler or unmonk as a base for damage unarmed and dip into maybe magus or bloodrager for some magic to represent lazers

Hm, what does Robo do? Punch people, throw laser beams, and heal people too. I suppose that makes him a Warpriest with the Sacred Fist archetype; the cleric list has just barely enough blasty spells to qualify. Maybe dip one level in crossblooded sorcerer to get your damage up.

Straight uMonk is fine too as you have several ki powers that can do the laser thing like Scorching Ray or Cold Ice Strike.

I've actually been trying to change that for a while now, I can't figure out how to change my pfp. whoops lol.

Consider what you most want to be able to do with this character. You aren't reproducing him 1:1 and you should expect to have abilities in addition to whatever Robo normally had.

Do you envision Robo as a Monk? A Sor? A Bard (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg3vtxuontw)? Other?

See what I was having the most issue with was Robo can do a little bit of everything, he's a real good unarmed combatant though and he can blast a little and heal a little, I think that sacred fist is probably best for my vision, but I'd love to hear more ideas on it too

Sacred Fist Warpriest can work for an all-in-one class. What about Monk1 and Cleric or Druid the rest of the way?

Also, what aspects of Robo from CT matter most to you to mechanically represent in PF?

I'm not sure I get the druid, to answer your question though, I guess translating his feel as being bulky and strong. it's his bulk that always stood out to me and that he deals shadow damage, so i'd like to represent his lasers. a sharding amulet of mighty fists could be cute for rocket fist or uzzi punch if I flurry with it
