Does this seem to be power balanced with other sorcerous origin options?

Sorcerer subclass: Hocus Pocus.

At 1st level gain a limited form of ritual caster. You acquire a total number of ritual spells equal to 'spells known' on the sorcerer table. Each of these ritual spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots, as shown on the sorcerer table (even though the spell itself does not use a spell slot). These spells may be taken from either the sorcerer or wizard's spell list. They can only be cast as ritual spells (not as regular spells). And they require 'Material' spell components even if the spell normally doesn't. These ritual spells are independent from those learned from your sorcerer class. They do not affect total sorcerer spells known, do not use spells slots, cannot be modified through use of metamagic options and cannot be 'up cast' (as they do not use spell slots). When you gain a level as a sorcerer, you may choose one of the ritual spells you know and replace it with another ritual spell in addition to swapping out one sorcerer spell. Note: A Hocus Pocus sorcerer can thusly gain the services of a familiar through use of the Find Familiar spell.

You gain one additional metamagic option at 6th, 14th and 18th levels.

Looks mostly fine to me, maybe a smidge overpowered.

Compare it to the Draconic Sorcerer, who gets 1/2 of the Tough Feat, about the value of the Lightly Armored Feat, and a language proficiency, you're basically looking at a little more than the value of a feat from your level 1 Sorcerer Origin, and yours just seems to be a stronger version of the Ritual Caster feat.

Seems like a fine option for a non-combat specialist Sorcerer, if a bit generic-feeling.

Eh, I'm on the other end of the scale. (Pun intended)

Sorc is nearly SAD and this origin offers... a downgraded version of two feats in place of the incomparable origin boosts. There's no real upgrade over time either.

On the other hand draconic offers "not dieing in tier 1" which is really the only thing a tier 1 sorc wants.

(Ritual caster in a campain with scrolls is sorta wild as those suckers just drop coooooooonstantly by the dmg's drop table, similarly MA is... just... magical Christmas land.)

It's definitely suuuper low power level but very very convenient.

I took the version of ritual caster offered by the 'hocus pocus' sorcerous origin to be weaker than the ritual caster feat.

Yes, you don't have to pay to add the ritual spells, but you are limited on how many you can have, maxing out at 15 at level 20. You get 2 at 1st level, then add one per level for the next 10 levels, then add one every other level until reaching your cap of 15 at level 17.

Compare that to spending worthless gold on adding spells with no restriction.

I couldn't think of anything to offer at later levels (6th, 14th and 18th) so I just added some metamagic. I think sorcerers should really get to use all the metamagic options from the very start. It gives flexibility but doesn't overpower as long as the pool of sorcery points remains unchanged.

I like the idea of creating custom subclasses (for sorcerer). There seems to be room for it.
