Don't really do the Halloween scene per se, but I do love costumes. Always have. Will probably just be listening to the original War of the Worlds broadcast from the 1930's. Found it online and burned it on a CD for the family. Going to gather round the CD player like they used to the radio.

It is here as well. But I do know the reason for it, though. It appears it is the christian version of an old Aztec rite. We even mount "Ofrendas", to honor our beloved dead ones.

Work today was fun! We were encouraged to wear costumes, people were handing out candy, some of the labs decorated their doors, and there were free pumpkin bars in the office. I love college towns. I was the Hawaiin tourist. Decided it was too cold/I was too chicken for the playboy bunny costume at work :smallredface:

This is the first year I haven't gone trick'or'treating...but I'm all dressed up as a princess for when the door is answered...my mom saw me and said "Well what do you know, you could have gone to the prom after all..."

Heh. It's a bridesmaid dress someone gave me. The first time I answered the door there was this little girl who was staring at me with these big round eyes and I thought Oh geez, she think's I'm grown-up and scary... :smallamused: I remember those days, when anyone over 12 was intimidating...

Since I'm 16, I also collected stuff for the food bank so it didn't look like I was taking advantage of the free food... got extra candy for that too.
