Is there anyway to cast a higher level spell than you have available from a domain Staff?

Example: Several prestige classes cap out at 4th or 5th level divine spells. What if one of these classes wanted to use a domain staff to cast a spell that is 1 level higher than they can normally cast? Is there anyway to do this pre-epic level? (I know about the epic level feat that can give you higher level slots)

Sanctum Spell should be able to bump it up by one level.

For spontaneous, Versatile Spellcaster + Heighten spell? Although that can be a bit questionable.

I think the same general principals that people use to get a 9th level spell slot from the Magical Training feat would apply, but those are on pretty shaky RAW ground (at least IMHO).

At the very least Magical Training would let you qualify for the Alacratous Cogitation feat which would let a prepared divine caster qualify for Versatile Spellcaster. Domain staffs require you know the spell from your class list or possessing the domain and have a prepared spell or slot available to burn. On the other hand, you have Magical Training which gives you the ability to use a spell book. Any spell written into your spell book is a spell known (vice versa for archivist's prayerbook at the cost of one level) even if you can't normally cast it. Versatile Spellcaster would let you sacrifice two lower level spell slots to cast any spell you know one level higher, even the ones in your spellbook.

You gotta have a spell or spell slot of the appropriate level to sacrifice to the staff in order to use it. That's a -lot- harder to come by than just being able to cast a spell of the appropriate level.

Maybe you could fake it with a pearl of power and a UMD check or two?
