View Full Version : Ghost of Tsushima-inspired campaign: Hexcrawl reclaimation ideas and insight?

The video game Ghost of Tsushima has a premise I find would be a pretty good basis for a campaign: invaders have already conquered a large portion of the territory, and it is up to the heroes to stop their advance and re-take the conquered parts.

How would you run such a campaign? To me it seems to call for an Hexcrawl-type campaign, with the difference being that the PCs already have knowledge of the land and the people living there rather than it being mostly exploration, with the surprises being mostly what the invaders are doing in X place and how the locals are reacting to the events.

I'm looking for any insight, idea or opinion you might have.
