PF Augmented Blade enhancement question

The Augmented Blade (https://libraryofmetzofitz.fandom.com/wiki/Augmented_Blade) archetype for the soul knife can attach his psicrystal to a weapon to make it masterwork and otherwise count as a soul blade. This grants it enhancement bonuses and equivalents as per the soul knife class feature. It also overwrites any existing magical bonuses or powers of the weapon.

One of the Blade skills the augmented blade can pick up is one that, when a magical weapon is augmented, adds one of the magical weapon’s enhancement-equivalent powers to the list from which the augmented blade may choose. This implies that the augmented blade can choose to add that to the blade.

Does this mean that an augmented blade doesn’t need to spend eight hours re-assigning his bonuses, but just assigns them when applying the psicrystal to a weapon?

Looks like that is the case. In particular, this line from the final paragraph of the Psicrystal Augment class feature suggests it without needing to refer to Improved Psicrystal Augment:

An augmented blade can choose any combination of weapon special abilities and/or enhancement bonus for attack and damage rolls before assigning any special abilities each time that the augmented blade uses this ability. Note the bold text, which is missing from the standard Soulknife's Enhanced Mind Blade class feature.

Interestingly, the text on Improved Psicrystal Augment seems to imply that you can only gain the additional +1 enhancement bonus from the blade skill if the weapon has an ability not normally on the Soulknife class list.

Looks like that is the case. In particular, this line from the final paragraph of the Psicrystal Augment class feature suggests it without needing to refer to Improved Psicrystal Augment:

I read that a few times, and was having trouble deciding if it meant each time the augmented blade used the enhancement feature, or the psicrystal attachment feature, but now that I look at it again after you point it out, they're all part of the same feature. So...yeah, that's the BIG thing the Augmented Blade gets: a free+move action to re-choose the entire suite of enhancements on their weapon!

It's a bit of a corner-case feature. Pick it up if you already have a suitable weapon.


Of further note is that nothing prevents you from adding enhancements from other sources AFTER applying your psicrystal to the weapon, so an Occultist/Augmented Blade could still use Legacy Weapon, for instance, on his augmented weapon.
