I felt like this was a little too complex for the Simple RAW thread.

If I apply the Elder Eidolon template (LoM) to a Skullcrusher Ogre (MM3):

1.) Does it retain the ability to use weapons?
2.) Does it retain any of the following feats: Improved Grapple, Improved Shield Bash, Mounted Combat, Power Attack, Two-Weapon Fighting (if it makes any difference, Improved Grapple and TWF are tagged as bonus feats).

Proficient with its natural weapons only, unless generally humanoid in form, in which case proficient with any weapon mentioned in its entry.

An eidolon loses all skill points and feats, except feats that improve its attacks, such as Improved Natural Attack, Multiattack, or Weapon Finesse.

1) Yes:

An elder eidolon retains all the natural attacks,
manufactured weapon attacks, and weapon profi ciencies of
the base creature
This specific rule trumps the general rule that constructs cannot use weapons.

2) All of those definitely improve its attacks, so yes.

Follow up question: if you Awaken a construct, does it get skill points and feats for its RHD, or no?

Yes. This is specifically mentioned in the spell text for awaken construct:

(See MM 290 for information on skills and feats the creature gains.)
