In forgotten realms 3.5 firearms are a thing.

do you have to get feats for each firearm? IE weapon prof pistol, weaoon prof musket

or is it just weapon prof firearms?

If your DM allows it, Dragon #321 has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Firearms), which should cover all firearms.
