A 4th Carpet of Flying (V. 3.5e)

The srd entry for Carpets of Flying, it lists 3 variations: 5x5, 5x10, and 10x10. However, in the Table: Major Wondrous Items on the same web-page, there is a fourth size you can roll up: #35: Carpet of flying, 6 ft. by 9 ft.. There are no stats listed for this carpet as there are for the 3 other sizes. It also seems strange to have dimensions so similar to the 5x10 sized Carpet of Flying.

Is this an error? A joke? I mean, what's going on here?

That's simple, the same mistake is in the poorly edited (common for WoTC) Dungeon Masters Guide. At least in the version I have.


page 252 for the carpet of flying table and 251 for the major items table.

Not mentioned in the DMG errata either, but agreed that it's just a mistake.

Oddly, 5E does have a 6x9ft Carpet of Flying as an actual item. Maybe they were considering having different sizes in 3E then changed their minds, but missed that line in the table when they were deleting it.

It's a well known dysfunction, but since Text Trumps Table the table is wrong.
