Manual of the Planes tried to introduce a rule set that prevented spells that relied on accessing certain other planes from working if they were cast on a plane that wasn't coterminous or coexistent with said plane.
On p. 46, it gives the very specific example of ethereal jaunt.
This always struck me as odd as I vaguely recalled instances of monters/encounters featuring such abilities to be used on planes where, per MotP, they most certainly shouldn't work.
This day I came across a clear example, a bunch of Phase Spiders in an encounter explicitly stated to use their Ethereal Jaunt ability while in the Abyss (a non Ethreal coexistent/coterminous plane) in Expedition to the Demonweb Pits, page 69. Nice.
So I thought I'd ask if anyone else happens to know any other such eggregious examples of the MotP rules being ignored.
