So party just faced a Druid that controlling Parasite insects that kill a creature and control the dead body to infect others. They just fought 12 of these infected and the Druid. The Druid didn't say to fight and got away because she had a murder of crow around her and as they flew away she turned into one too. And the party didn't know she was a Druid untel she was gone.

So I looking for a few encounters as they track her down and when they find her. So a few things to know

1. Party is paladin, wizard, cleric, monk all lv7
2. Paladin is powerful with exploding dice on one attack
3. Wizard is psionic UA one
4. Cleric is a light but reskined for a moon goddess
5. Monk is 4 Elements
6. The Druid i rolled up a moon with standard array with 2 feats mage slayer and war caster. She vhuman. Sorry she is lv 10 so 3 levels higher then the party. Her back story is a devil tricked her into giving up her soul. Then she was Possessed by the demons minion.

So what level would the Druid be? That of course affects things a lot. Obviously she could masquerade as wildlife and keep tabs on the party. If she has infecting parasites, obviously she'd be interested in infecting the PCs; perhaps some evil fey story-style stuff like will-o'-wisps trying to lure someone away or some apparitions seem totally in tone; then infect a party member and have them come back...changed and arrange a sneak attack.

If she has access to Conjure Fey, that's a lot of fun stuff you can do with it. Conjure Woodland Beings and Conjure Animals (while turning into an animal) can of course produce some sudden surprise encounters and nice rest-breakers. Make it seem like the whole environment is against them and play with subterfuge. If it comes down to blows, level 5 Conjure Animals for...whatever fits the Druid (as many things as possible though) and then turn into...again, whatever fits the Druid (if she's over level 9, obviously Giant Scorpion is the strongest combat form; perhaps summon a horde of Giant Wolf Spiders or Wolves or Giant Badgers or Raptors or whatever; Spiders fit best with a Scorpion obviously).

Lots of awakened trees. No real limit, and they like the "fertilizer" the Druid keeps providing.

Blights, provided you allow this druid to know how. Given demonic influence, maybe...

This is PCs versus the whole environment. Insect swarms, crawling bug swarms, round the clock harrassment and reduction of resources, then the finisher fight.

You were going for a TPK, right?

So the PCs are camping in the middle of the woods, as they do, trying to hunt down the Moon Druid. They put up their Leomund's Tiny Hut, go to sleep, and everything is good. One of them wakes up in the middle of the night. An owl hoots in the distance as they take a leak on a nearby tree, because ew, who wants to pee in a dome of force with no walls.

Then they feel something weird at the back of their neck, and make a Con save vs parasite.

What happened? The Druid bribed an owl to spy on the party and act as her watch. When one of them left the dome, the owl gave the signal, and she let loose a Conjure Woodlands Beings batch of a Quickling and a Dryad. Quickling darts in under Dryad's Pass Without Trace with +18 Stealth and plants the parasite with +8 Sleight of Hand. If it doesn't catch? Dryad will Charm the PC, and distract them as she lures them deeper into the woods. When they're deep enough that the other PCs won't hear what's happening? Druid dismissed Conjure Woodland Beings and does a 5th level Conjure Animals to savage the party member, and joins in as an Earth Elemental that hides underground and attacks them through the forest floor.

That's "night 1" of hunting a Druid in their home turf. Things get worse when she gets a few more bodies on hand to create Wood Woads and feed to Russet Moss and get Vegepygmys and their Thornies.

This is the nightmare scenario for just about any seasoned adventurer. Do not mess with a Druid on their home turf. It will not end well.

What if she turned herself into one of those parasitic, dead-animating insects (or a bigger, more dangerous version thereof) and animated the corpse of a giant monster?

That way the PCs would have to beat the monster then beat the wildshape then beat the druid.

You can just use blights as regular plant monsters. Vine Blights worked great in a similar battle I ran once--being able to grapple on a hit and add battlefield control really helps reduce the focus fire on the boss.

Well druids get access to dispel magic and they think tiny Hut can save them throughout the night. But they'll learn quickly.

Oh and I forgot also on this Continent magic is weak here so for spell casters to regain spell slots it take a long rest of a week. But everything else is normal. They know this before coming and took the mission anyway.
