So, due to plot stuff, our party managed to hide the mcguffin (one half of a powerful demonic artifact) inside a bag of holding, that has a special lock on it which requires the blood of six party members in order to open - and one of use just died and burned on an exploding airship, so there are no real ways to open the bag without my character, who designed thhe bag with the help of a high level abjuration specialist, or with brute force--ing the lock.
However, the battle in which the druid just died was an ambush set up by our questgivers, in the beginning of which they managed to paralyze half of our party with a duration-concentration hold person (no saves at the end of turns).
In addition, the way they found out about our location was by torturing and taking the knowledge out of the mind of an ANCIENT GOLD DRAGON (assuming this is not a double bluff and the nice dragon npc is just a polymorphed enemy wizard).
So, my idea was to immedietly destroy the bag and send the hellish artifact to fly infinitely in the astral plane - cause if our enemy has the resources to send search parties/scry/teleport around the astral sea in the search of a 1-ft. long magical stick, we have no real chance of stopping him either way.
However, the party disagreed with me, and they want to take it to somewhere safe/someome who could destroy the item. I agreed, but I want to find a way to make sure that we have a remote and instant way to destroy the bag it it falls into the wrong hands - a way that could function by us giving a mental command, not casting a spell or anything.
tl;dr - our party needs to have a remote and instant way to destroy a bag of holding using a mental command, minimum chances of failure.
The party has the following characters -
Artilerist artificer (might be switching into another caster class sooner than later)
Wild magic sorcerer
Tranquility monk
Vengance paladin
Assassin rogue
Grave warden (a 3pp class focused on necromancy+frontlining)
We are all 4th level and leveling is pretty slow in this game, so the lower level the solution is, the better.
