Mounted chase rules

I’m planning to run an overland mounted chase in one of my games, but I’m unclear on a few of the rules.
Does a mount automatically fail its constitution checks to keep running longer than its Con score # of rounds?
What happens when a mount fails its check? I’m assuming it must stop running. Are there any other conditions that affect it?
How long until it can run again?

Mounts falow all the rules for A normal party member atempting a forced march with on exception

If it fails its save it takes REAL damage instead of subdule damage.

thus you can keep trying to force the mount to keep runing with a handel animal or ride check. and so run the thing to death.
