So, through my many and varied wanderings through the internet, I happened to come upon this absolute gem:

It's absolutely awesome and kind of terrifying.

Is there a spell that allows you to turn regular animals into anthropomorphic animals (as per the template in Savage Species or similar)? Adding levels in various classes at higher levels, such as swordsage or ninja, could make this even more awesome.

Because this could be a new use for the infested with chickens flaw.

I can't think of anything offhand but... Maybe PAO? just pray you don't get a chicken accountant instead. (there are more chicken attack videos)

Wish and the rituals of race change allow it, not sure about anything else.

My first thought was to modify create faux human from The Standing Stone.

But then I found this. I believe this spell is exactly what you are looking for:

The closest D&D character might be a Crane Hengeyokai Monk and and his Human Bard cohort.

I mean, the shapeshifty dude could instead be a Druid, Wild Shape Ranger, or Wild Monk, but that begs the question of why he doesn't turn into a bear and eat the ninja's face.

Or maybe the old dude is a Dragon Shaman and the chicken is his familiar. He knowns the Humanoid Shape invocation, and Share Spells allows him to cast it on his familiar.
