Manifest Divinity: The fall of the golden city
Once long ago two great hero’s ventured to the golden city a place of greed and sin where it was said they would waist gold on the walls before aiding those in need.
The first of these hero’s was a tall and strong man of the people who sort out evil so he may smite it.
He was a man who Threw away his name in service to his lady the goddess Falayna he was known only as the chain breaker freer of slaves.
He travelled by the roads so that he could protect the innocent who walked the same righteous path he took.
The other great hero was Ivor he was wise and gentle he journeyed by the Forrest and the woods so that nature could bloom with every step he took in service to his god Gozreh.
He walked through nature as if he were the wind enriching it with life as to did his companions Theo a kind ape and ginger a powerful tiger.
The same ginger who would later become master of the sky's and thunder itself.

The two separately arrived at the golden city to join a congregation of the faithful so they may best help all people and rid them of sin.
The chain breaker knew that he would need aid to move gold lusting hearts of these people so he ventured to the only holy place in the city the third tower.
Ivor dutiful and kind as he was tried to extend his kindness to the people but was met only with scorn, saddened he ventured to the holy temple.
When they arrived at the temple they found many followers of the gods debating how best to aid the people unaware that on the horizon a darkness brewed.

During the discussion a terrible sound was heard coming from the distance.
As Ivor and the chain breaker heroically ventured out they found the sky torn open and bleeding a swarm of foreign beasts from beyond the sky.
They quickly and valiantly guided the people into the church but one merchant proclaimed them fools that the church could not protect them only for a foreign star beast to arrive and strike him down.
Ivor a man of nature knew this foreign star beast to be unnatural and evil on site.
Still his kind soul believed all worthy of redemption he attempted to offer the beast redemption only for it to strike out at him.
Valiantly the chain breaker stood forth and struck the beast down with a single blow.

Together they ventured forth defending the fleeing citizens but they were surrounded by hundreds of the vile foreign beast.
The crow beasts struck from the sky killing the defenceless while the star beasts crawled across the ground devouring those who refused the sanctuary of the church.
Ivor summoned his godly lighting to strike the crow beasts before they could harm the innocent.
Ginger ventured forward taking the form of a giant golden lion crushing the foul star beast before they slithered to their victims.
The kind ape Theo ran out and carried the wounded to safety.
The chain breaker true to his honour defended the church he rolled and struck, ending many foreign beasts.

Even when the terrifying flesh beasts and hill beasts arrived to topple the third tower and its church, by working together the lighting and the blade of the hero’s would strike them down before they could act.
But then the spherical dark profit of Gula arrived, the servant of the evil foreign god Gula master of fragmentation and hunger.
The fowl orb of evil belittled the hero’s and insulted the gods before it attacked, this was the first foe they had faced capable of wounding the great hero’s.
Together the hero’s battled the monster but alone they could not win against the dark profit.
The dark profit sure in his victory went to strike down the chain breaker but Theo stepped out sacrificing himself for the hero.
In the moment of great sacrifice both Ivor and the chain breaker found serenity.
Together they prayed not for themselves but for the people of this sinful city and for the loss of a kind ape.
The gods answered.

Touched by the good in them the gods descended into the hero’s bestowing then a godly might.
With the might of Falayna the chain breaker struck the dark profit shattering its false might showing the pathetic creature within.
Terrified the pathetic dark profit tried to flee so it could spread its evil and plan its revenge but before it could ginger struck it down avenging his fallen companion.
Seeing the deviation to the golden city Ivor channelled the divine power of Gozreh across the land turning the gold bricks into divine light forcing the fowl beasts out of the city.
So had fallen the golden city but arose the holy city that to this day no foreign beast can stand foot in.

Manifest Divinity: A Fowl Beginning
In a time of glory and peace the pope in the northern holy city has made a proclamation.
A new evil is soon to be birthed all those who are to come of age must take to the land as adventurers and battle evil to prepare themselves as a holy army against a new unknown evil.
This mandate was put out, not only to the northern holy kingdom but also the Orbearish Kingdom, the Aldrich Empire and the Talos Peninsula.

Two such people affected by the mandate would be Marcos Guisarme and his cousin Gingar Gawain.
Gingar Gawain was a half elf who had been adopted as an infant into the purely human Gawain family leading to her knowing from a young age that she had been adopted but refraining from questions.
They Gawain household had never treated Gingar as any less than family but the doubt in her mind was still there as to how or why they adopted her.
The fear she felt lessened greatly when she gained a little brother Marko.

Marko Guisarme was the son of an honorary knight of the Sandres Kingdom but a border war had broke out with the Aldrich Empire as such sir Guisarme was sent out to a war he would never return from. With its army crippled the Sandres Kingdom became a subsidiary Reign of its ally the Orbearish Kingdom. Knowing the political changes that would occur Marko’s mother sent him to live with her sister’s family in the Talos Peninsula a state that had peace agreements with its surrounding countries where he would have a chance for a good life.
Surprisingly Marko although he retained the Guisarme name was adopted into the Gawain household making his cousin Gingar into his big sister.
After Marko’s recent birthday he had come of age and had to follow the mandate.

Together with his cousin they left the Gawain vineyard setting off to the local city of solemn’s rest.
When arriving at solemn’s rest Marko approached the optometrist he had been interning at while Gingar waited outside but as his master would say “if that’s all you see you need your eyes checked”.
Inside his master greeted him kindly and remorsed for the duty that had been forced on his apprentice.
He bestowed his apprentice with three thing before seeing him off a scroll promising aid should he need it, knowledge of nearby ally location and a task one better paying than he would normally have access to.
Leaving the shop he realised one terrifying fact Gingar had wondered off.

While Marko was busy handing in his notice or something she had decided to go to the bookstore.
When entering the owner immediately asked his favourite customer if his least favourite customer was with her unfortunately Gingar’s eidolon Raz was with her.
The shop owner sighed and asked that she keep him in check, Almost immediately Raz slipped away.
She explained that she would be going with her younger brother, he had been mandated as an adventurer and if she wasn’t there with him, he wouldn’t last a week.
As the shop keeper offered her a gift a book that should aid her they both heard a thud followed by a creaking noise and three bookcases falling down with a smug looking lizard on the other side.
Gingar dismissed Raz and aided the shop keeper in tidying the store as her brother arrives and explained their task.

A nearby logging camp had an infestation of flesh bags and they were feeding on trees in the area.
The loggers could easily deal with the beasts but some had moved into the Druid lands and as the loggers were not allowed to enter that part of the woods they would need someone to deal with them and the job payed well.
The two visited the hunting lodge to gain adventuring licences and finalise the job they had taken.
With the skill of their hand writing the employee suggested that they could get a good administrative position easily in a larger facility before they handed them wooden temporary licences.
Together they traveled to the lodging camp where Gingar summoned the sulking Raz.
Being guided to the Druid woods by one of the loggers, Gingar queried the odd grid like structure of fully grown, freshly growing and cut down trees with the logger explaining it as a growth cycle was developed by the great hero Ivor to keep nature in balance.

As they approached they noticed damaged trees with the logger explaining that they were at the Druid woods as such he could not proceed and wished them luck before returning to work.
Quickly they found the odd skin toned jellyfish like creatures latched onto trees and pulsating.
Eager to show his well honed skills Marko marched up to the first flesh bag and sliced it down with a single strike.
Filled with vigour and confidence Marko charged towards two more flesh bags slashing his blade.
This failed to killed the two but it did anger them the first spraying him in the face with a foul smelling liquid and the second stabbing him in the wrist.
Luckily Gingar was there to count kills and kill steal.

She aided Marko by summoning beasts and shooting with her crossbow a little too close to Marko’s head each time.
With Marko coated in foul spray and the insides of many flesh bags most of the pests were “cleaned” up.
Before they had finished Marko noticed an elf woman in a tricorn hat interacting with one of the flesh bags.
While ginger finished off two flesh bags Marko approached the woman and attacked the flesh bag she was milking breaking her spell that kept it docile.
The flesh bag attacked her burning her hand before the woman finished it off.
While the women was annoyed she did first aid on herself as the two questioned her and her actions.
She introduced herself as daisy and explained that she was collecting the foul smelling spray to keep her and her baby safe from dangerous creatures while staying in the woods.
On further questioning she explained that she was not a Druid but did not trust the people of the town with her baby.
They left the elf each slightly confused but easily distracted the two began arguing over who killed more with Raz at first saying that Marko won until Gingar threatened to withhold sweets at which point he was adamant that Gingar was the winner.
When Marko threatened a goo covered hug Gingar proclaimed it a draw.

They returned to the lumber office to get the documents signed leaving a foul smell when they left.
Eventually the smell lessened to the state that the guards would allow them back into town.
They returned to the hunting lodge and got the reward of 220 gold pieces as well as a lapis lazuli engraved with the symbol of the lens makers.
The receptionist swapped the wooden temp badges for a metal tag each that contained their details and a crystal.
When viewing the request board through the crystal the tasks they should be able to do easily would be green, the difficult tasks would be orange and the red tasks they would not be able to do.
There was one green task on the board a well paying job for the effort put into it.

The night guard duty was short handed because of an expedition into an evil garden as such they were offering 80gp to adventures willing to do the work.
The two jumped at the opportunity getting the documents before cleaning themselves up and having a short sleep.
When they arrived they found that including themselves there were only four guards that night.
Each was handed a bullseye lantern to scare off animals that get to close to the walls and told to ring the bell of a serious threat to the city was found.
Each took to a wall checking the edges and inspecting the important areas but during the night Faz noticed something moving towards the city and informed Gingar.
The hominid is figure was ducking and hiding as it approached Gingar focused the light in the area surprising the figure who fell on the floor knocking her hat off revealing daisy the elf from earlier in that day what’s more without her hat it was revealed she was actually a drow.
Partially blinded by the light the drow woman grabbed her hat returning to an elf form and fled.

In the morning Gingar reported what she knew about the drow woman.
The guardsman shocked thanked Gingar for the information and altered the documentation stating to her that if an evil drow had attempted to attack the city then a report must be sent and a holy priest might even be sent to deal with this issue.
When the two returned to the hunting lodge they were pleasantly surprised to find the reward was double the stated amount thanks to the importance of Gingar’s report.
With their pockets filled the two finally went to the inn rented a room each, Gingars being notably better and went to sleep.

Manifest Divinity: The old yellow rainbow
After a few hours the Marko awoke to find Gingar reading a book and Raz playing with the curtain tassel.
After a few moments of contemplation of he questions his sister’s extorting the book shop for protection before she points out that she was given the book before she distorted the shop.
While contemplating his sister’s unintentional steps towards starting a crime empire he go visit his old Master.
When arriving at the optician he enquired at the old lady at the front desk who happily took him to a waiting room.
When he met his master he discussed plans for moving onto other towns and stated his intent to continue aiding in their duties.
As Marko started walking he felt a warmth in his pocket and after assuring himself that it wasn’t wet he found his lapis lazuli was walm and the sword in the one frame was pointing behind him.
He turned around to see his master who was holding a similar lapis lazuli he explained that should Marko be in danger that he could use it to call out for nearby aid and it would tell him if someone needed his help.
Marko’s master then expressed that Marko was a good student and would become a great man.
With a mutual moment of respect they both walked away.
When Marko arrived at the Hunting lodge he found it slightly busy while the receptionist was occupied he looked at the board.

There were a few jobs on the board that they could take one was an scouting investigation of an undead group in the evil garden another was to clean up an infestation of crawling pests from an accountants and the last was a guarding job for a wagon that would start in two days.
Marko took the pest and wagon jobs to the receptionist who documented the jobs noting that they would get 20 gold per pest corpse returned.
The receptionist then realised something before quickly sorting through paperwork and handed him a letter who he excitedly explained was from his holiness lord Gregor the 3rd.
After thinking Marko remembers a story of a holy hero who slew a general of the vampire cabal who up until this point he had thought only a story.
Lord Gregor would arrive the next day and requested Marko and Gingar aid him in a divine task, confused Marko returned to the inn.

During this time Gingar had been reading her gifted book and found it was a guide to poisonous and edible plants which could help her when trying to use them in future.
Marko was pleased to find that no fires had been started and they had not been kicked out of the inn he then explained the jobs he had picked up.
Arriving at the accountants the two were met by a thin and well dressed man who pleasantly greeted them.
After a moment of confusion the man was pleased to find that they were here to remove the pest problems.
Discussing the pests Gingar realised that these specific pests were Grawnats a four legged spider like creature about the size of a cat.
The two were informed that the pests injured a member of the cleaning staff in the cellar that they use for long term storage.
Normally they would not need to use that cellar and could wait for the guard to deal with it however due to the recent mandate they would need access to it as soon as possible.

Entertaining the cellar the two initially mistake the ion orbs that are used for artificial light as monsters.
Looking around the room they realise that one of the walls was actually two cabinets with a small central walking space between them.
Looking down the passage they see artificial light coming from all rows except left side of the two end rows and natural light coming from the end right row.
As Marko slowly and carefully advanced down the path Gingar summoned a dog at the second from last row.
As soon as the dog appeared a Grawnat pounced on it piercing its barb like fang into the dog and grappling it.
Marko advanced on the creature and killed it with a single strike.

The dog then advanced to the end of the corridor blocking it off while getting in a fight with another Grawnat.
Marko and Gingar advanced behind the dog with Raz climbing up to the top of the last cabinet.
Marko attempted to strike the Grawnat with his well honed technique but he had never practiced hitting something around a corner with a dog in the way.
The result of this was a cabinet with a dent that would prevent it from opening and his sword stuck in the dog.
With its new injury he dog jumped back which provoked the Grawnat to leap at the dog which in turn provoked Marko who slashed the Grawnat in half killing it instantly.
At this point Marko and Gingar found the last Grawnat in the top corner opposite a broken window protecting its nest and a clutch of eggs.
Marko went slightly underneath the pest and found he couldn’t reach it before Gingar fired a crossbow bolt at the Grawnat and missed panicking it jumped at Marko who managed to dodge out the way before bisecting it.
With this done Marko inspected the room bagging the body’s while Gingar cast multiple instances of acid splash too wipe out the nest only stopping to contemplate raising the last three viable eggs before dismissing the idea.
They show the client the job and even helped repair a cabinet that had been dented shut with the client happily finalising the documentation.

When they returned to the hunting lodge they were surprised to find the receptionist arguing with a man in black and yellow armour and cloth.
Seeing the two the man began questioning the two.
The receptionist insistence that the man wait until the two had completed there business before he questioned them.
Annoyed the man stood to the side while Marko handed over the documents and body’s for 64 gold with the extra gold being a thank you for helping with the tidying.
The man in yellow then started to question the two about the drow but before they could answer he cast zone of truth.
The recounted the events with Marko annoyed that he was unable to hide how he fudged the score in his favour.
The man in yellow was disappointed that the report was true as he could not prevent the bishop from exerting himself visiting this town.
He informed the two that his holiness would meet them both here at 10 the next day stating that if they met at the church they would be there all day.
After the man in yellow left the receptionist warned them to be cautious as although the man was a member of the pantheon church he was a follower of calistria who are known to be quicker at calling things heretical than most of those of the pantheon church.
Appreciating the warning the two head back to the inn for a meal with only Raz having a large.

The next day two took to researching before the meeting Marko approached his master being warned of the strenuous agreements between the Lens Maker Society and the followers of calistria who were proficient at finding secret societies.
Gingar returned to the book shop leaving Raz at the inn with the shop keepers help she found three books that she purchased totalling 1 gold 8 silver.
The first was a simple guide to the gods which left her musing on how the eight foreign gods were the only evil ones.
The second was legends of the holy hero’s which had a small section on lord Gregor the 3rd including the tales of him killing vampires followers of the evil gods and even a story of him slaying an ogre who had part of an evil god descend into him but how much of it was true was debatable.
The third book was an account of some of the church’s actions this included documentation that claimed lord Gregor the 3rd had been part of 7 teams that had purified large areas of the evil gardens and he was referred to as lord and the third not from birthright but because he was the third bishop of his region to be named Gregor.

Marko was the first to arrive at the hunters lodge he was surprised too see not only the man in yellow but another man with an almost identical face with similar but rainbow colour clothing with a familiar lapis lazuli ear ring.
Sitting between the two of them was an old man whose face had creases from a lifetime of smiling he excitedly introduced himself as bishop Gregor happily extending his had for a shake.
Marko thanks to his training noticed that although the old mans movements were slow and shaky at points, where they mattered they were controlled and swift.
As Marko happily shook his hand the receptionist with the aide of the rainbow man retrieved a seat for Marko who only now realised the receptionists fake leg.
When Gingar arrive she too was greeted with a handshake from the joyous old man.
The two the recounted the encounter with the drow to the old man who speculated that the baby she spoke of may not even be a true infant but the evil proclaimed by the pope meaning that they were the ones that the holy mandate was proclaimed for.

They would need to find this drow he quickly sent the man in yellow off ahead to the Druid sect.
Arriving at the stables Gingar noted that Gregor’s carnage had been marked with the blessings of meny gods but the symbol of sarenrae was the most prominent.
The rainbow man asked if they could ride or if they need to share a horse.
To this Gingar cast summon mount and Marko asked to ride with the rainbow man.
As they left the town they were surprised to see Gregor take off at speed with Gingar taking off after him.
While alone Marko attempted to discreetly question the rainbow mans ear ring.
The rainbow man explained that he was no longer a full member of the Lens Maker Society as his first priority was to the church.
However he still intended to aid when possible and he had felt Marko approach through the ear ring before he could see him.
When they approached a large tree they saw the yellow man with a sturdy looking man.
Lord Gregor gently got off his horse and approached the man extending his hand to the man expressing his joy at meeting the Druid leader.
The two discussed the drow and its implications the sect leader offered his aid but Gregor stated that the two children he then stopped turned around and apologised before stating that the two adventures would be able to guide him where he needs to go.

The group arrived at where the two had battled the flesh bags showing where the drow had been.
The man in yellow quickly picked up a trail which they followed to a dirt crossroad.
Finding it difficult to progress further the man in yellow suggested that they hide due to the frequency of tracks.
They hid fairly well for about an hour before noticing the drow woman approaching disguised as an elf.

At this point Gingar and Marko realised they were the only ones who knew what the woman looked like.
Marko attempts to discreetly step out the bush but gains ire from the woman and Gingar starts shouting for Raz then loudly identifies the woman as the person they met the other day.
At this signal bishop Gregor snaps a branch when stepping out of the bush.
The drow turns to Gregor who drops to the ground pretending he injured his hip in an efforts distract the drow.
However the man in yellow rushed over to bishop Gregor believing the deception luckily the rainbow used the distraction to sneak up on the woman took a stance and struck the woman knocking her out.
When the woman hit the ground her hat fell off revealing her drow nature.
The rainbow man tied her up and asked the two adventures to show him back to town while Gregor who was at that point telling off the man in yellow followed the tacks in hopes of finding the baby.

When they returned to town Marko and the rainbow man waited at the prison keeping guard while the rainbow man gave pointers of what he had learned and ways to improve.
During this time Gingar waited at the stables for the two to return.
Hours later the two returned empty handed with Gregor clearly disgruntled by the man in yellow babying him.
Bishop Gregor was suppressed and genuinely touched that the girl had waited for them when arriving at the prison the adventures were payed and lord Gregor beside his blessing upon them and bid them goodnight.

Manifest Divinity: A Black end to a Journey
As Gingar awoke she noticed that the air of the room was crisp and cooler than expected.
Looking around the room she noticed that Raz was perched at the window which he had opened slightly.
Upon questioning the delinquent lizard Gingar was told that people were moving logs into a pile and their might be tresure in them.
Gingar told Raz to shut the window before she went back to sleep.
A few hours later Marko and Gingar were rudely awoken by the sound of the window slamming shut.
This time not only did they find Raz but also saw that he was desperately trying and failing to hide a pouch that was quite lager than him behind his back.

Gingar queried Raz on where he had got the burlap pouch he explained that he had found it in the pile of logs outside.
Marko confused by the statement looked out the window to see a number of citizens setting up a wooden stage next to a pile of logs with the yellow man directing them all.
When Gingar inspected the pouch she found that it contained a combination of crushed insects and a powder that looked like medicine.
When examining the pouch neither she nor Marko could determine what the content is or who it belonged to.

Determining that the medicine must be important to someone Ginger set out to the group constructing the stage to find its owner while Marko went to order breakfast.
As Gingar approached the group she recognised the man in yellow managing the stage construction and determined that he would be the best one to ask which worked could have lost the pouch.
Initially the man in yellow was annoyed and disinterested in both Gingar and the pouch but as she had helped them catch the drow he decided to take the pouch.
when asked he explained that the stage was being built for a trial to determine if the drow had come to poison the town as drows were known to do this.
Lord Gregor was currently out looking for the drows baby as this would not only act as evidence towards the drows innocence but was also potentially the prophesied evil however at this point the man in yellow doubted that the baby existed.

As the man in yellow was inspecting the pouch he suddenly became silent as his face turned to shock.
He turned to Gingar and thanked her stating that she had now twice proved herself trustworthy before passing her a coin calming that if she ever needed aid to show this to the members of the panthion church.
Before she could ask any questions the man in yellow had left.
Inspecting the coin the best Gingar could determine was that it was not made of a metal that she knew and that had the symbol of the pantheon church.

Returning to the inn Gingar found that Marko had just had his food arrive as she sat down the inn lady stated hers would be out soon.
Gingar showed Marko the coin and explained what had happened while Faz somehow stole half of Marko's bacon.
Marko examining the coin whist protecting the rest of his food only found that it was not legal tender and that one of the many symbols on the coin was that of his goddess Falayna.
Done with the coin Marko flipped it to Ginger only for them both to fumble and the coin to hit Gingar in the eye before bouncing onto the floor.
Gingar started looking for the coin as her food arrived, she quickly found that Raz had an oddly circular mouth but as soon as she mentioned food he spat out the coin and crawled up the table at this point she knew the lizard well.

After the meal the two visited the hunting lodge as today was when the wagon guarding job was scheduled to start the reseptionist was pleased to see them and pulled out a large sack and handing it to them.
Marko opened to bag to find it full of slightly off meat which could still be eaten if prepared properly with Gingar quickly closing it before Raz could jump in.
Confused Marko questioned why they would need the bag the receptionist informed them the route to Vacant Creek would pass by Caleb's Bog.
Still not knowing why they needed the meat the receptionist explained that part of Caleb's Bog was in an evil garden this had led to a number of creatures mutating into monsters.
Most of these weren't a problem unfortunately one rat survived and was able to breed resulting in a new species referred to as cerebral rats.

Cerebral rats were intelligent predators that preferably hunted sentient animals and were very dangerous due to the psionic powers they had gained from their mutations.
Luckily the native species of giant frog were resistant to the rats power becoming an effective predator of them.
In order to aid the growth of the giant frog population and have them become more protective of the roads it had become a standing order for travellers to carry meat and feed the frogs as they pass with it becoming a minor crime for anyone to hunt or attack them.

After being informed of this the receptionist pulled back a wooden rack to show an array of sending stones and used one he then informed the two that Martin Fearus was loading his wagon and where to go if they were ready to head out.
As they walked the two recounted what they knew of the locations that were relevant to this job they both quickly aggreged that they had no other info about Caleb's Bog.
Between the two of them they knew that Vacant Creek was a slightly larger town than solemn’s rest it had been founded as the site of a gold rush like event for a rare magical metal but after the town had been set up it turned out to have been a scam.
Fortunately the town was in a converging point of several trade roots meaning that it could still thrive approximatly 8 years ago a noble named Lord Baylon had purchased the town.
Funnily enough Gingar knew quite a lot about Lord Baylon he was 1/64th aasimar and a descendent of the legendary hero known as the Chain breaker still holding small ties to the royal family of the Holy city.

When they arrived at the merchants stables they found a slightly podgy man with a noticeable amount of mussel clearly from a lifetime of loading and unloading boxes he had a few boxes left to go when he noticed the two.
He quickly questioned if the two were his guards and they handed over the paperwork he asked if they needed to grab anything for the journey as it would take him a few minuets to finish loading.
The two happy they had everything they needed helped him Finnish loading Marko got on the front Gingar got in the back and they were off.

The horses pulling the wagon were a fair bit slower than those they had ridden the day before but as they were pulling a wagon it was to be expected.
Along the journey Raz excitedly tugged at Gingar and pointed outworlds she managed to see that the rainbow man and Bishop Gregor next to him they were searching the woods most likely for the baby.
She excitedly waved at him and notised he waved back but she was fairly confidant that he couldn't tell it was her.

Further along Marko noticed a grouping of giant frogs having a small dispute despite their name they were only slightly larger than dogs.
Two of the giant frogs seemed to have full mouths but the rest seemed to excitedly move towards him he shouted to Gingar to throw out some of the meat.
The giant frogs happily ate the discarded food this event played out a number of times with one situated having Marko notice a large deformed rat before one of the giant frogs pounced on it.
After a while they stated noticing less and less giant frogs.

At one point Martin warned Marko to get ready as he pulled out a canister of something neither Marko or Gingar had noticed anything but Martin explained that their were two groups of cerebral rats ahead who were preparing to circle them and attack.
A few seconds later the two groups of deformed rats attacked four rats of them and three behind all of the rats started to emit a purple light that seemed to coalesce into a flame.
The four ahead sprayed the horses and the three behind sprayed Gingar and Faz.
Marko and Martin had the horses run over the rats ahead of them badly injuring one as Gingar summoned a dog to distract them from following.
As they got further away Gingar and the horses were getting noticeably less damage with the burns from the flames visibly disappearing the further they went.
When questioned Martin explained that the flames were some kind of psychic trick and although they could only knock you out the raats could easily kill an unconstious person by themselves.
He recounted a story of when he had been hit by a large amout of the psychic fire and fallen uncontious but thanks to being on the wagon survived when the horses fled.

About an hour later the horses stopped moving forwards Martin attempted to move them forwars but could only do so at an odd angle to the road.
Marko then noticed a dead giant frog slightly wiggling concerned he asked Gingar what she thought it was.
Gingar pulled out her crossbow and took a shot.

A tiny black creature had been happily eating a frog 4 times its size having gone to grate difficulty having pinned down the creature before carefully melting it into a bowl shape for digestion when a sharp rock pierced the side of its food and having all the good bits leak out.
The tiny creature slithered out of the creature it had been eating to see a wooden box with one small bit of food, three big bits of food and two even bigger bits of food for it to eat.
As the tiny creature moved its four little legs towards the wood box purposely dripping acid to show off, one of the big bits of food threw out a tiny bit of food to him.
Suppressed the tiny creature ate the food perhaps if he ate the group of food slowly he would get even more food so he approached the back.

Marko was not terrified of the tiny acid spitting obsidian scaled creature he was definitely afraid of it but what did terrify him were the words that his sister then said "I think its friendly".
Realising the suicidal statement for what it was Marko realising the creature was now slighty behind them lashed and shouted of the horses who pelted at full speed away from the frightening creature.
Ginger initially saddened by losing her potential pet was happy to see it quick flying and catching up to them.
She threw out more bits of meat to the creature but found that her attempts to handle the friendly creature were clumsy at best.

Marko horrified that his sister was louring the creature towards them was repeatedly attempting to convince her that it wanted to kill both of them.
Gingar getting annoyed at her brother threw out the peace of food she had been trying to use to catch the little black creature and noticed had she been holding it still she might have been bitten.
Marko desperately tried to throw things backwards and get the horses moving faster in an attempt to increase distance whilst shouting at his sister.
Gingar contemplated her brothers words and cast protection from evil on herself and then threw out the whole bag of meat to the creature the best smile she could possibly make.

Flying after the wooden box was so much fun for the tiny creature he could hunt them and he would eat them and the big food in the back was throwing little bits of food to him.
He almost got the big foods hand but missed he still got a little food though then the big food had a nice smile and though the big thing that all the little food was in.
He swooped down and grabbed the lots of little food but he couldnt keep it and hunt the wooden box.
He liked the big food and would just have to eat it later so he threw the boring nasty thing he had been given at the big food hoping it would come back later and he could eat it then.

Marko then heard the following things "OOO, OH, AW, Ah im blind, No im fine." and regretted having a sister.
Gingar was impressed that such a small creature could carry such a big bag but she was slightly saddened it wouldn't be coming with them.
The next thing Gingar knew she was hit in the eye again this time it wasn't a coin but a brass ring with a black gem that had been painted to look like an eye.
Gingar quickly put on the ring and was turned blind she quickly took it off and was fine.

Less then 20 minuets later the horses and waggon arrived at Vacant Creek the horses were exhausted and in a panicked state Martin tried to explain what was going on as they were let in.
They were quickly taken to a side room as the guards seemed disinterested in the panicked report.
The guards asked if they could do a quick test on them before submitting the report.
Marko agreed and one part stabbed his hand with a pin squeezed it until there was a little blood and stated he was clear.
Gingar then agreed and the guard did the same test with the same result.
Just as the guard was about to do the same test on Martin the door burst open.

Proudly walking into the room was Lord Baylon he quickly turned to the guards applying the test and told him his shift was over and to go home.
The confused guard then left the room and Lord Baylon asked Martin if he had changed his mind about working for him.
Confused Martin proclaimed he had no intention of changing his mind.
Lord Baylon then stated that it was unfortunate as the man who had just finished work for the day was the only one qualified to preform a check for skin stealers so unfortunately Martin would have to spend the night in the lockup under guard supervision.

When Marko asked if they were allowed to leave as they had already passed the test Lord Baylon proclaimed "I don't care go away".
An apologetic guard guided them back to the wagon, stating that they would look into the black creature before passing along a message from Martin if they go to the Vagrants Mistake then Gloria would sort them out.
When Marko asked what was going on the guard explained that they had caught a skin stealer a fay fake thought to be corrupted by evil gardens that kill people steal their skin and pretend to be them until they kill someone else and repeat the process.
However Skin stealers mate for life and always come in pairs and the Lord is using it as an excuse to throw his weight around.

The two arrive at the vagrants mistake after struggling to get the frightened horses to move.
Marko enters inside he sees that its fairly fancy with wealthy people inside thankfully he grew up fairly wealthy so knows how to walk the walk and the patrons bare him no mind.
At the desk is a fairly large man who give Marko a quick look up and down before he gives him a pleasant greeting.
Marko asks for Gloria but is told that she is no longer with them Marko give his condolence.
Marko explains who he is and why he is here as the large man follows to the wagon.

With the large man worried about how frightened the horses are the three unpack the wagon with exception of a small sealed box.
The large man expresses that its not on his delivery sheet as he sighs and hands it over, so its probably meant to be traded for stock on the return trip.
He offers the two discounted rooms for the night as they are only lightly booked tonight as the two agree he pulls out a wand and uses it to clean them up before inviting them inside.
He charges them only 1 gold each for the rooms for the night and hands them a key each.

Unfortunately when then get alone the two quickly get into an argument over the days events and Marko storms off alone.
Before going to bed Gingar examines the ring she was given she realises that the black gem is actually a scale most likely of the creatures parent.
With a little bit of testing she figures out how to turn the blindness off an on but doesn't know what it does beyond that as she goes to bed.
Neither one knows the danger they are in as they gently fall asleep.
