The new Bladesinger is getting a lot of awareness right now for one reason only, the ability to replace an attack with a cantrip as part of Extra Attack.

Now this ability is really ground breaking in ways to play a Gish.

So instead of having every Gish going forward including Bladesinger level 6+, how about we make a feat that replicate that instead.

Eldritch Onslaught
Prerequisite: Extra Attack
* You learn a cantrip of your choice from that Wizards spell list.
* Whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks.

The only problem I see with this feat is that it can be interpreted to give Bladesinger the option of replace two attacks with cantrips with this feat, so if someone with better English skill would give it a go ...

Anyways what do you think?

Well, that feat would make Bladesingers pretty redundant. Also, it would be very confusing on how it works with Eldritch Knights's 7th level ability...

Bladesingers are hardly redundant, they are Wizards, they didn't use to have this ability so if this make them redundant they where always redundant.

Eldritch Knights will be able to make Extra Attack with one cantrip and then a bonus cantrip, so two cantrips. Making them much better, and they could certainly use to be much better. But you could add this sentence to the feat: You can only use one cantrip as part of the Attack action. This means neither EK nor BS can use two cantrips in an Attack.
