Multi class spell casting

So I'm a forever DM who's finally getting to play, and I need a little help understanding multi-class spellcasting. If I'm understanding it correctly if I do make it to 20th level I will be a full spellcaster but only have my highest spellcasting classes ability in what I know. As a 14th level sorcerer/6th level cleric I would have 9th level Capability but only 7th level knowledge. Or am I missing something?

You would have the spell slots of a full caster (if all classes are full spelcastere). You will know up to 7th level sorcerer spells, and 3rd level cleric spells. You can upcast spells to make use of the higher levels slots.
