"...I am Psycho Mantis!"

Basically, I'm looking for a bit of build advice. This is the first time I've tried making a psionic character. I've always thought psionics sound cooler than regular old magic. In the words of Jack Black, "How about the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away....WITH MIND BULLETS!!! That's telekinesis, Kyle!"

So, I need your guys' help making the mind bullets. Basically, I'm looking to make a psionic character who's a telekinetic specialist. Kind of like the Master of the Unseen Hand, writ large. He throws people around into walls, levitates objects in the room to throw at his enemies, rips up floor tiles and sends them spinning at foes, rips their weapons out of their hands, and does all this while floating in the air with a superior smirk.

...However, I have no idea what sort of psionic powers can accomplish this. Ideas?

As long as you do it in the fasion of Hollywood wizard duels!

I PUSH YOU DOWN WITH MY MIND!

I PUSH YOU DOWN WITH MY MIND!

I PUSH YOU DOWN WITH MY MIND!

Back and forth, back and forth, until one of the duelers doesn't get up.

I think that telekinetic maneuver and telekinetic thrust are both givens, and you might want to take telekinetic force as well.

This will work best in MnM, since D&D psionic powers are a lot more restrictive. I had a player who did this once, it would have been pretty cool if he wasn't an idiot and put absolutely no points in toughness, defense, or any other save for that matter.

Mutants and Masterminds

Its a d20 system used for creating Super Hero type characters, such as Marval or DC characters.

Exactly. I play 2nd edition every once in awhile. It's a really good free form system that let's you do almost anything. The telekinesis is just you can move stuff as if you had X effective strength at any range as long as you can perceive it. A lot is intentionally vague for circumstantial reasons. I highly recommend it.

If you actually want mind bullets, you probably want to check out soulbow (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060403a&page=2) from complete psionic.

But you seem to be looking for more actual telekinesis, so probably a psion/erudite or an ardent with the appropriate mantles

Mantles?

What's an Erudite?

Erudite - The wizard of psionics.

Ardent - A Complete Psionics sin.

My suggestion: Mind bullets are invisible, no? Mind Thrust works wonders at low levels. Then move onto telekinetic thrust for actually shoving people around. Telekinetic maneuver would allow you to trip/bull rush/disarm people from afar.

Erudite is also from complete psionic and is a variant psion who knows more powers and can copy them from others, but can only can a certain number of distinct powers per day

an ardent is sort of the psionic cleric; he picks mantles instead of domains, which are his lists of psionic powers and generally some benefit (which occasionally requires being psionically focused)
