Remember, remember, the 5th of November
The Gunpowder Treason and plot;
I know of no reason why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a mask, hat and cloak and an appointment at Parliament.

(For ye Yanks not in the know, this is the evening when the English blow ourselves up. Like the 4th of July, except our traitors to the crown weren't counted as heroes. Then.)

I can hear them but I don't want to see them.

And no Vendette references Jibar. And we've hd them going on and off for about a week now. Terrifies the dogs.

So, this would be the date to throw a nuke on the UK?

Thank you for notifying me.

How very... London...

Isn't it so?

Of course, I've just been wondering how easy it would be to stockpile this stuff for a later date, so it might be an ordinary English thing.

The wonderful thing about this night is that I have neighbours who will let fireworks for every single holiday if they can get them lit, so tonight, when they're meant to have fireworks, I just look out my window and I get a free show.

It's like a bloody war zone out there. And it smells of smoke. And my cat is really terrified. :smallfrown:

The kids who live in the estate near my house were having firework fights so I figure I should stay armed.

For some reason I'm reminded, quite out of the blue, of the passage in Reading in the Dark where the author complains that the Protestants in Derry got more bonfires than the Catholics. Funny how things come to you like that.

Huzzah for fireworks!

Hope everyone enjoyed going out in the cold to watch a bunch of colourful explosiony thingies while breaking open glowsticks and pouring the contents all over :p

Well, I did :)

Nope, just a quiet night in for me. I don't see the point in going to these things on your own, and my significant other is 5000 miles away. And I don't know if she'd approve, seeing as she's Catholic and all that. :P

Seriously, coming back from Blackpool last night was weird. The M61 was full of smoke.. it was like driving in fog. I do love fireworks. For some reason we're not doing anything this year. Shame.

Yeah I blew the last of them last night, no more injuries despite the lack of fuse on the 144 multishot jobbie (ripped open the top and droped a match into it and ran)
I love fireworks, I guess it all stems from my deep seated desire to blow stuff up
