The Failed Prophet (https://aonprd.com/MonsterTemplates.aspx?ItemName=Failed%20Prophet) template turns any living creature with at least 5HD into a Construct. It also grants a host of superpowers including the ability to just grab wealth off of its victims.

In our games we use the Building and Modifying Constructs price by CR guidelines (https://www.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?Name=Building%20New%20Constructs&Category=Building%20and%20Modifying%20Constructs) to be able to build any Construct. Which means a character could theoretically build Failed Prophets.

I'm curious if the Playground gas used this template for anything cool and what sort of trouble folk would like to see me get up to using the thing.

My first thought was to somehow make 5HD crows or magpies or maybe even seagulls (stop it now!).

If someone felt like doing a proper breakdown of the thing compared to creatures of similar CRit'd be greatly appreciated.

Since the Failed Prophet is an acquired template, it doesn't quite reason that someone could BUILD one of them. Certainly modify them, yes. If you have GM permission, sure, go right ahead.

Well it sounds like you live in a game where you can make any construct, even those that were never meant to be made by PCs. So let's look at that for this.

According to the Fluff, A failed prophet is a dead member of a wealth-worshipping race who are responsible, during life, to construct a mindscape to serve as their afterlife. If they aren't rich enough or strong enough, that mindscape collapses and they usually end up sent into normal hell. However, a few are ornery enough that they animate their dead bodies (as constructs rather than undead for some reason), merge it with their worldly wealth and then head out to collect more wealth.

It also mentions that they will occasionally "dismantle the corpses of dead <other members of their faith/race>, rendering their afterlives vulnerable to predators or weather in the Astral Plane."

So, in your world of making any construct you want, I would imagine something like you raiding the tombs of the dead members of this race, collecting their wealth and remains and forging it into a Failed Prophet manually instead of it happening willy-nilly.

So if you want to make seagulls, I would imagine you using rib bones as wing bones and a breast bone as a skull or similar, then binding it together with forged silver or ivory feathers.

Something like that.

Huh, that Template just gave me an Idea on how to reuse an old loved/hated Enemy.

Thanks!
