Weapon and Armor Proficiencies

The assailant is proficient with all simple and martial weapons. They are proficient with all armor and shields (except tower shields).

Assault (Ex)

When the assailant enters assault mode, he may attack twice at his highest attack bonus as a standard action. An assailant wielding two weapons may attack four times at his highest attack bonus. He may initiate a sunder attempt as a free action before each of these attacks. The assailant deals 1 extra point of damage per class level while in assault mode (1.5 for two-handed weapons), though this cannot be combined with Power Attack or improved by abilities which improve Power Attack.

An assailant may enter assault mode once per encounter, though he may end it at any time. It lasts for 3 rounds + the assailant's Constitution modifier. The assailant gains an extra usage of assault per encounter at every four levels beyond level one.

Improved Sunder

The assailant receives the Improved Sunder feat as a bonus feat.

Stopping Stare (Ex)

At 2nd level, the assailant gains the ability to suddenly cease his assault and deliver a powerful stare which forces a creature to make a Concentration check opposed by the assailant's Intimidate check or cease whatever action it was doing and forfeit the rest of its actions for the round. This may be done as a standard action once every 2d4 rounds while in assault mode. Ending assault mode and then using assault again does not reset the counter. The target must be able to see the assailant for it to function. This is a mind-affecting effect.

Unrelenting Assault (Ex)

Beginning at third level, the assailant ignores one die of precision damage per two class levels while in assault mode. If the precision damage is not expressed in terms of die, the assailant ignores 1 point per two class levels.

In addition, the assailant may apply a +1 bonus to a single Fortitude save, a +1 bonus to a single Will save, and a +1 dodge bonus to AC against a single attack per assault. This increases by +1 every third level after level three. The bonuses may be applied to an additional save or attack per assault at levels 7, 10, 13, and 17.

Unrestricted (Ex)

At level 5, an assailant may move in Medium armor with no speed penalties and may sleep in Medium armor without becoming fatigued the next day. In addition, he increases the maximum Dexterity bonus in all armors by 1 and decreases all armor check penalties by 2 (minimum 0).

At level 10, an assailant may move in Heavy armor with no speed penalties and may sleep in Heavy armor without becoming fatigued the next day. He furthur increases the maximum Dexterity bonus of all armors by 1 and decreases all armor check penalties by an additional 2 (minimum 0). He may wear light armor as if wearing no armor at all.

At level 15, an assailant may wear medium armor as if wearing no armor at all, and furthur increases the maximum Dexterity bonus of heavy armors by 1 and decreases their armor check penalties by 2 (minimum 0).

At level 20, an assailant may wear heavy armor as if wearing no armor at all.

Endless Assault (Su)

At 11th level, the assailant gains the ability to heal himself while in assault mode. This heals him for damage equal to his level times his Constitution modifier (including any bonuses to endurance as named under the Endurance feat) as a full-round action. The assailant may trade 5 points of healing to heal 1 point of ability damage.

Using endless assault provokes an attack of opportunity. It may be done once per assault. At level 19, it may be done twice per assault.

Ignore Obstacles (Ex)

At 14th level, the assailant is able to move across any kind of difficult terrain at his normal speed and ignores any kind of movement speed impairment (not including things which would stop him entirely). This does not include magical effects.

I've a few problems with this class, to be honest. The lack of fluff is a noticeable one, however the balance factor of being able to double his attacks twice per encounter and do so with no drawback for three rounds, this makes him a devastating melee combatant. This affects both melee and ranged attacks, and also can be used in conjunction with sneak attacks (an Assailant/Rogue would be quite devastating, wouldn't it?)

I doubt this sort of unchecked power would be good as a base class, but more in line for a prestige class with a stiff requirements. Not that I dislike the concept, I think it's neat, but it's too without bounds.

My suggestion: Balance it along with the Barbarian. Reduce 1/encounter, to 1/day, increasing with each 4 levels. As well, provide a drawback. Some kind of one, just for balance.
