Has anyone ever combined a summon that requires you give a command with a bonus action to make the summon attack with Commander's Strike, the maneuver that gives your attack to another creature?
I suspect this is not really min-maxed but I'm curious about the idea all of a sudden...

If you mean the Battlemaster maneuver, it requires you to spend your bonus action in addition to your attack, making it fairly redundant in this case.

Taking this one step further, the summon also needs to use their reaction, making it easier to get away from the summon and to the summoner.

Getting Commander's Strike also uses a feat, 1 class level and 1 fighting style, or 3 class levels. Compare that to increasing your ability to concentrate (Con+2, Resilient, Warcaster) or getting better spell slots (more summons/more powerful summons).

Lastly, which would deal more damage: casting an attack cantrip or giving one of your summons one more attack?

This hits the nail on the head; is the friendly creature (a summon in this case) hitting hard enough in a single hit to be more viable an option that using using an attack from your attack action, a bonus action, AND the friendly creature's reaction to do other things?

Commander's Strike isn't bad, but it is niche in where it is good. For a Battle Master Fighter that doesn't use their bonus action for much, the cost could be seen as negligible, mostly just trading their hit for an ally's and adding a bit of damage on top with the superiority dice. When working with a Rogue or a Paladin who may not have a reliable reaction attack or a reserved use for that reaction, this can be a great use to land an additional Smite or Sneak Attack for a real heavy hit.

General rule of thumb I've been using is it's not all that worth while unless the friendly creature's attack is hitting with more than 2 dice (or more than 3 if their modifier isn't all that high), excluding the superiority dice or any bonus you'd get with your own attack. Considering all the things that are being used for the Commander's Strike, you want to be sure the hit is carrying enough value to be worth the cost

Chasme hits pretty hard if it hits. One of the better shells for this.
