I am wondering if anyone had played this revamp of the 5e rules. How was it? How did it work out? My friends and I are looking for a change of pace to a new setting. This looks like (so far) an easy way to skin a game into Star Wars. It looks relatively simple. Basically 5e with minor adjustments. Any advice if you have?

Also...mods...does this not belong in this thread? Lol

Never played nor read those rules, but my advice is to use a system that is made for Star Wars, if you want to play in the Star Wars.

5e and D&D in general have fundamental expectations that don't work well with the setting and thematic of SW.

But is it free? This is free. We are just looking to take a little break.

Seems to have about everything at first glance. And perfectly honest with three pretty minor tweaks is just a better designed game than 5e in my opinion. And it's d20 so it's pretty easy for D&D players to pick up.

I generally agree with you, but in the specific case of SW5e it seems the basic structure is surprisingly adaptable. The mythic and heroic elements of Star Wars come to the fore by using a D&D chassis, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Scum and villainy is a starwars like game that I thought was quite fun. You just need the one book which is not expensive.
