As a disclaimer this is a work in progress that has only been in development for about a week

Trying to make a custom system for some of my future dm games and decided to start to build one and post it here for a broader development. If anything is confusing or worded weird let me know so I can patch or clarify it. I'm hoping to build something decent. If you think of a skill or ability you want to add feel free to post it down below and maybe we can make something pretty epic here.

No classes are allowed. You have free build choice depending on your luck and or playstyle.

Points are the basis of everything in this system with them you can basically grow indefinitely.

You receive 20 points at 1st level. Every level after you only receive 5pts.
Points can be used to either evolve yourself or your skills and abilities. Monsters have a small percentage of dropping either spell tomes or ability manuals. You can choose to learn the ability by spending 1pt. Or you can convert it into a manual which generally could be sold or traded. If you dissolve the book you gain 1pt.


Strength increases damage and stamina/2

Dex increases speed and attacks (ac, movement, attacks.) Every 5 points after 10 Dex. Every 5 points after 10 increases movement by 10ft. Every attack excluding spells drain stamina. 1stm per Atk.

(dex never felt like it increases dmg to me. I understand targeting weak spots like wrists and throat but that's more of a crit. With a str score of 5 I dont see people cutting through hardened flesh or clay. But with 15 str you can slice through things better.)

Con increases health and stamina/2 it also increases your fortitude and is your stamina recovery your modifier is how much you can recover per round. 18 con (+4 mod = 4stamina recovery per round.)

Int increases mana/2 and how many skills you can use.

Wisdom increases mana/2 and your mana recovery per round. Modifier is how much mana you recover per round. exm 15 wis (+2 mod= 2mana recovery per round.)

Charisma increases how well you perceive and are able to talk and negotiate with people. (not sure how well this score is.)




You can only have as many spells as your int and wis modifier /2.

Int 13 wis 14 (3+4=7) (7/2=3.5) rounded down (3spells)

You can only have as many abilities as your str and con/2
Str 13 con 15 (3+5=8) (8/2=4)
Your mana is calculated by your wis and int modifier x5 [int 13 wis 11 (1+0=1) 1x5=5 mana]

Your stamina is calculated by your str and con mod x5 [str 13 con 14 (1+2=3) 3x5=15stamina)




Default hd is d4
1p upgrades d4 to d6
2p upgrades d6 to d8
3p upgrades d8 to d10
4p upgrades d10 to d12
5p upgrades d12 to d20

Must meet the last one to upgrade. To get a d10 hd from a d4. You have to buy the d6, d8,d10. So having the d10 hd costs 6points. (d6 1p, d8 3p, d10 6p, d12 10p, d20 15p.)

Default hp is roll
1p is half hp or roll if higher
2p is average hp or roll if higher
3p is 75% hp or roll if higher
4p is max hp or roll if higher
(10p for max hp, 6p for 75%)




Roll points like normal. Or whatever your dm prefers (roll, point buy etc.)

2p +1 to any stat below 40
3p +1 to any stat below 80

2p per +1 in either under 10

40p survives instant death (like disintegrate, power word death, getting tossed into the sun) at 1hp once per month
60p survives instant death (like disintegrate, power word death, getting tossed into the sun) at 1hp once per week
80p survives instant death (like disintegrate, power word death, getting tossed into the sun) at 1hp once per day
100p survives instant death (like disintegrate, power word death, getting tossed into the sun) at 1hp once per hour
120p survives instant death (like disintegrate, power word death, getting tossed into the sun) at 1hp once per minute
140p survives instant death (like disintegrate, power word death, getting tossed into the sun) at 1hp once per round

9p +1 fast healing under 15

[Sacrificial Protector (Ability)]

Level 1 5ft blocks 25% (rounded up) of the damage and receives 150% (rounded down) of the damage blocked. (Instant reaction can be done even If it isn't your turn.) 5 stamina

Level 2 15ft blocks 50% of the damage and receives 125% of the damage blocked. 8 stamina

Level 3 30ft blocks 75% of the damage and receives 100% of the damage blocked. 12 stamina

Level 4 50ft blocks 100% of the damage and receives 75% of the damage blocked. 15 stamina

Level 5 75ft blocks 100% of the damage and receives 50% of the damage blocked. 20 stamina

Level X 100ft blocks 100% of the damage and receives 25% of the damage blocked. 25 stamina
