Hello there!

I will be joining a Descent into Avernus D&D 3.5 campaign soon. I'll be the main wizard of the group and having played a lot of them focused in crow control and battlefield manipulation in the past, I'm looking for something slighty different this time. I will be doing some CC but I want to focus on buffs this time. I have never played a War Weaver and plan to do so.

I've read both handbooks and I see the standar is something like Abjurer 3/Master Specialist 2/War Weaver 5 and then go for Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil. If I am not mistaken, the whole thing of being an Abjurer and Master Specialist is to qualify into IotSV easier, but I'm not sure if I want to go to that PRC to start with because I suspect that I could overshadow the whole party.

So I've been toying with the idea of playing a focused transmuter 5/war weaver 5 instead. But I'm not sure where to go from that. Should I just throw some fillers like mage of the arcane order, master specialist, paragnostic apostle and the like?

We will be starting at 5th level and ending at 13th or so. I will be playing a lesser tiefling, by the way. That cannot be changed.

Or maybe some spell sovereign (Dragon Magazine) to make low level living spells for infinite healing and low level buffs?

What about Spellguard of Silverymoon with Magic of the Land feat? You can also dip Sacred Exorcist and Silver Pyromancer after Spellguard to be able to share Paladin spells. Storing up Favor of the Martyr+Double Celerity is fun.
