Ok they where these orbs that followed you....
They gave you a deflection bonus to your AC... but they had there own HP
They basicaly flew in the way of any attack and projected a magic shield like a point deffense device. When they bocked the attack there was a chance they would take damage depended on how close the damage was to your AC I think so like if it gave a +2 bonus and you where only off by 1 then it would take part of the damage.....
if it's HP hit 0 then it would stop working and you would need to repair it spending gold.
