Arcane Education (Ex): When grafted to a wizard, a fiendish familiar can teach the character one new spell of each spell level the character can cast. Each time the character gains access to a new spell level, the familiar teaches the character one new spell in addition to the two spells the character automatically gains for advancing a level. When grafted to a sorcerer or bard, a fiendish familiar can serve as a source of spell knowledge as described in the DMG 3.5 page 198.

Skills: Concentration +4, Knowledge (any three) +5, Listen +5, Search +5, Sense Motive +3, Spellcrafr +5, and Spot +5

It's not explicitly said, but in your opinion, if a non spellcaster somehow manages to get a fiendish familiar symbiote, could the Diminutive fiend teach arcane magic to his host?

If yes, Wizard, Sorcerer or both?

No. Seems like a pretty clear no based on the text provided.

Well, it has knowledge ( arcana ) and spellcraft skills, it knows the spells, it can communicate telepatichally and is fairly intelligent... so, mabye.

If you, as a DM, or your DM, if you're the player, allows someone with Knowledge (Arcana), Spellcraft, and knowledge of spells to teach spells, then yeah.

But the Arcane Education ability doesn't function unless you gain a new level of spells. Which Fighters and the like usually don't.

From a purely fluff context, I'd consider this an acceptable rationale for a martial character to enter a spellcasting base class without extensive arcane study; like joining a wizard's guild or becoming a wizard's apprentice.

Sounds like it would make a hell of a plot device. It would be up to the DM of course if they allowed it.

If you're just looking for a fluff explanation for your fighter taking a level of wizard then sure. You can fluff that however you want and it fits.
If you're talking about a non-caster getting spells from the arcane education ability then no.

Yes... but only if the non-spellcaster takes levels in either Wizard or Sorcerer.
