I found this rare bit of knowledge (https://web.archive.org/web/20000818060339/http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/MagicItems.pdf), containing some nice few items...

However, I am not sure how official they are. The article is called: "A Magical Assortment". Its written by Stephen Kenson.

I also found this (https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/108991/what-was-the-source-of-this-magic-items-pdf-found-on-wizards-website?noredirect=1&lq=1), which seems to indicate that the downloads of the page, were unofficial homebrew but that the particular one written by Stephen Kenson might have been more official or at least higher quality - since he was a game designer at the time and apparantly is now a writer for 5th?

But back to my questions:

1) Is this official content?
2) Would you as a DM allow it?

Thanks

I found this here (https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/108991/what-was-the-source-of-this-magic-items-pdf-found-on-wizards-website?noredirect=1&lq=1)with a quick web search:

If the answer is correct, it seems to be 3.0 free web content. So you need to check with your DM anyway. Further note that the items might have been changed/updated in 3.5: e.g. The Ring of Nine Lives now costs 70k and has a much stronger effect.

My god, the source page it was linked from is the most turn-of-the-millennium thing I have seen all year. With all the AOL links, even? Wild.

No, it's not official.

My confusion stemmed from the fact that the download page (https://web.archive.org/web/20010429040922/http://www.wizards.com:80/dnd/DNDDownloads.asp#mag) says: "Unless otherwise noted, these downloads are all created by fans like yourself."

However, under the specific "A Magical Assortment" article it says: "Wizards of the Coast presents new magic items for 3rd edition D&D: "

Which to me does mean that it is specifically noted as an official content... But, the items have some wierd prerequisites, so I was unsure of what to make of it all...

Web enhancements are like books. your DM needs to allow em.
