This was an attempt to mechanically balance humans against half-elves (which I gather is a long-standing 5e controversy? :p) , and hopefully restores humanity's rightful place at the top of the "versatile race" totem pole.

New Feats
Use the True Savant feat with caution or with the addition of other homebrewed spells, as certain arcane traditions currently benefit from it much more than others. At the DM's option, if there are no available non-wizard spells of a given level to add to the wizard spell list you might be able to add any other non-wizard spell of that level instead.

True Savant
Prerequisites: Arcane Tradition feature

Your knowledge of your chosen school of magic includes both breadth and depth. Choose one spell of each level (including a cantrip) of your chosen school that is not already on the wizard's spell list to add to the wizard's spell list for you. Other wizards cannot copy these extra spells from your spell book unless they are also follow your arcane tradition and possess this feat.

Winged
Prerequisites: Aasimar, Dragonborn, Tiefling, Fey Ancestry, or other (subject to DM approval)

You grow a pair of wings (or are finally able to make use of wings you have always possessed). These wings are usually batlike if you are a dragonborn or tiefling, feathered (usually with white, brown, grey, black, or rainbow plumage) if you are an aasimar, or even like those of a dragonfly, butterfly, or flying fish if you have the Fey Ancestry trait or are some other race.

Your wings cannot be disguised except under the heaviest robes and cloaks, which prevents you from using them. Any nonmagical armour or clothing you wear must be specifically crafted to accommodate them. You cannot use your wings while wearing armour unless you are proficient with that armour and meet its required minimum Strength score (if any).

At 4th level, whenever you are falling you may use your wings to slow your descent to 60 feet per round and to take no damage when you land. You may hold on to a willing or incapacitated creature up to one size larger than yourself to slow their fall in this way as well.

At 8th level, whenever you are falling you may use your wings to fly at a speed of 30 feet. You must descend 5 feet for every round spent flying in this way.

At 12th level, you gain a flying speed of 30 feet and may hover.
