RSS Fix?

For the love of god, 503 entries in the feed?

Can this be fixed? It's getting ridiculous to load the feed (~25 seconds here, using WizzRSS on FF 2.0.0.9). I think it's quicker to actually go to the site and check, rather than check the feed, lol.

I was just popping in regarding another RSS fix - can we have a <pubDate> adding to the items? I just added it to a new reader, and it's lumped the latest 260 or so all together as the same time. Ugh.

Using wget on both the index and rss for this site...

The rss feed is four times the size of the index page. Granted, that doesn't include images for the index.

By way of comparison, using wget on slashdot...

(the second file is their RSS feed)

Really, the feed doesn't need more than 10 items... RSS isn't designed to be an 'archive of everything' interface, it's supposed to be for quickly checking new items.
