The Careful Spell metamagic allows creatures designed by the caster to automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell.

For many damage spells, such as Fireball, a saving throw merely reduces damage by half. This means Careful can't fully protect friendlies from the spell's full effect.

However, for other spells such as Hypnotic Pattern or Fear, Careful spell can fully negate all negative effects caused by a spell.

Is there a list of spells that Careful Spell fully protect from?

So far, I found:

- Earth Tremor
- Hypnotic Pattern
- Fear
- Confusion
- Reverse Gravity
- Earthquake (initial effect only)
- Faerie Fire (drow magic)
- Grease (optional spell list)
- Tasha's caustic brew (optional spell list)
- Transmute Rock (Clockwork Soul, initial effect only)

Spell that, by RAW, won't work with Careful Spell:

- Web
- Sleet Storm
- Black Tentacles

Add to that Create Bonfire.

I would also specify that it works on Reverse Gravity only if there is anything to grab on to- otherwise it's a no-save spell.

there are a few AoE damage cantrips where it is potentially useful.
