Hi everyone,

I have been working on some worldbuilding for a while and I found Myth-Weaver's NPC Generator (https://www.myth-weavers.com/generate_npc.php?do=npcgen) which helps me tremendously to create various NPCs for my players and I'd like to know if you knew of any updated one with ALL the base classes ?
If not then is there anyone trying to develop it ?

Thanks in advance,
Paragon

Due to the terms of the Open Gaming License, third parties like Myth Weavers don't really have access to non-SRD material for apps like this. This means you probably won't find one, what with the copyright issues and all.

However, I do have a few links that might help. First is the NPCs Wiki, which has a list of published NPCs (https://d20npcs.fandom.com/wiki/Published_NPC_Project) by CR with race and class. Next are two random generators that I made to accompany my handbooks: a random warlock generator (https://chartopia.d12dev.com/collection/1556/) and a random warmage generator (https://chartopia.d12dev.com/collection/1417/).

Well thank you for the clarification & tools !

Do these need some sort of login to save the results? I tried rolling races, feats, etc. on the warmage version, but clicking "save" at each step didn't seem to save anything. Is there another step or steps?

Maybe. I don't actually use that feature, so I don't know.

Probably better than a random generator, given how finicky those are, would be if we had a database of ready to use NPC & PC sheets and statblocks collated from people's games. Given how time intensive creating 3.x statblocks can be, seems criminal there is no shared resource like this.

This sounds awesome ! How would one go about doing this in your opinion ? Would a speadsheet work ? Should we all share a Myth-Weaver's account ?

How do you use it to generate characters?

Without the ability to save each step, it seems more of a feature generator than a full character creator.

There have been a few attempts at this here in the Playground, threads where people post builds or someone fills build requests, but these tend to peter out, and I don’t know if those threads have ever been indexed. Resources take curating, which can be time-intensive.

One excellent resource in Pathfinder is Ravingdork’s Character Emporium (https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AAVhtc9jjDglhno&id=BE45A5E31B322825%21194&cid=BE45A5E31B322825), which has scores of characters fully built and ready to go, often with detailed backstories. These can serve either as PCs or very well-built NPCs. I don’t know if he’s still adding to it, but the existing content is superb.
