Homebrewing all racial spells to be able to be cast with other spell slots?

All the feats that are in tasha's, and the races in the new ua, which grant spells specify that those spells can be cast with any spell slot the pc has. What do you think of making older races work like that?

I'm probably going to start doing it in future games, as well as other feats that grant spells. It seems to be where the design philosophy is at this point.

The funny thing is, the actual RAW of the PHB does allow you to use any spell slot (of the appropriate level) to cast any spell you know or have pprepared. That was in both Ch. 10 and the individual Spellcasting class features. It was just a stupid answer by JC regarding Magic Initiate that resulted in the idea of spell slots being somehow class specific. And then even with the errata for new editions of the PHB, the actual wording still didn't actually limit spell slots to their respective classes, but the idea still held.
