Well, yes, but it's not like it can't be delayed. plus, Christmas is only 4 days into winter, it's almost still fall :p
More seriously, I assume mause want to get it before Christmas. if it comes out in the end of fall, with the shipping, it will probably arrive afterwards. Everybody should expect not to have it by Christmas. This way if you do, it will be a double gift :p

Making a book takes a LOT of time, especially with all the comments and bonus strips. Personally, I'd wait for the Giant to make a post about it.
The pre orders haven't started yet. It's obvious there is no set date.

So, in short, we don't know when it will be out. Let's wait and see.
