Thoughts on Eldritch tattoo and gloves of soul catching?

I find it interesting that wotc released two books in a row with magic items that give extra dice to unarmed attacks. What do you think about those items? Is it a coincidence? Is it something 5e needed? I have heard people say high level monks, do thise items help? As a gm would you give those items out?

I hadn't thought of that! It would definitely work for fighters with the unarmored fighting style as well, but it wouldn't be terrible for a barbarian or something, might make punching a good backup.

Right. The main issue with the fighting style is that it never gives you magic damage, so at some point you're better off picking up a magic weapon.
