A team of software developers is developing a stupid post filter. (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2007/11/12/100954554/index.htm?postversion=2007110712) The Internet is saved!

Sounds tough, but very awesome. I hope they manage to do this. I wonder what they're using. I've heard that spam filters and such are AI applications. If so, are they using things like neural networks? It'd be neat and such a thing could even be trained.

The Internet is saved! :smallbiggrin:That's not how you write "will cease to exist"... :smallconfused:

No, in all honesty, it's like taking the crazy people out of the insane asylum. It's a better place, and then most people get bored and leave except for the Janitors who make it their new island fortress. So the internet is gravely wounded, but it'll still exist.

Wow. Excellent burn. Someone call the fire department, I think D'anna might have set the server on fire!

I was actually reffering to myself, but ok.

It's about darn time somebody came up with something that makes kids these days actually use correct grammar and punctuation. At least someone in society finally sees there's a problem with the way things are going.

I concur.

Could be awesome, could be horribly restricting. If it's done well and it's customizable it'll come in very handy.

Not on GitP though. For some reason most people on here seem to post fairly intelligibly. :smallconfused: How odd.

It's the mods. Let's just say people who don't make intelligible posts have...accidents. :smalltongue:

If they can get it to work, that would be amazingly awesome. If put on the right sites, that is.

Hey, I'm stupid enough not to realise my self deprecating quasi-humour could be construed as scathing insult. I'm also stupid enough to misspell realize without realizing it.

Wow. It took me like... 10 times the amount of time I would spend reading normal writing to understand that. But I was able to understand it. Somehow. Yay for the brain's ability to adapt.

Still, though... even more yay for the development of a way to filter out things like that. :smalltongue:

My mind bows in respect to yours. I actually had to use a translator.
(Maybe my sanity has better defenses than yours:smallwink: )

The article sounds good, but it may lead to problems for foreign posters if it goes after many spelling errors, too.

Whaaaat?! There's actually translators for that stuff?! That's not fair! :smalleek:
