You'd have to be a high level spell caster to do it to begin with. Something along the lines of making a construct, either golem or homunculus for example, You sculpt and enchant it with powers and abilities you want it to have just like normal construction. Then you somehow possess it and gain all the benefits of being a construct and still having everything else from your race & class(es). Kinda like an alternative to becoming a lich for non-evil characters. The problem being is how would you do it and how could you keep from dying permanently when the construct reaches 0 HP and is ruined?

So...a remote presence bot?

While I like where you're going, stylistically, there's also the 8th Level Arcane Spell, Clone...

...kind of accomplishes the same thing but backwards?

Isn't Green Star Adept the PrC for this?
Or Renegade Mastermaker?

Clone is nice but it doesn't give you all those construct traits :)

You could use magic jar for 1 hour/level and just recast it continuously. Keep your real body, preferably with a permanent reduce person, in an armored backpack or in a special armored compartment in the construct. When the construct is destroyed, you just shift back to your mortal body and can teleport out or continue to fight, as appropriate.

You could also clone yourself and then true mind switch into the construct. You will lose a level if you die in that case, though. Maybe use a thought bottle for its intended use instead of cheese.

If you do any of this as an arcane caster you have to be careful; most constructs might be able to make somatic components, but they cannot speak, which will prevent you from using verbal components. Among other things.

It might be fun to dominate a Construct if you yourself are also a Construct: an intelligent magic item (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/intelligentItems.htm) with a high Ego power. The dungeon master would have to approve of this scheme, of course.
