Basically the title. I'm designing an NPC Rakshasa that has 7th level cleric casting instead of sorcerer casting, and I put it on the elite array, so it's stats are now, 15, 14, 20, 14, 18, 14, with bluff, concentration, disguise, diplomacy, sense motive, spellcraft, knowledge arcane, knowledge religion, and knowledge the planes as skills. I haven't set feats yet.

I'm planning on putting it in full plate, because the last thing it needs is 28 ac to go with its 27 SR and Dr 15/ good and piercing. It's total budget is 16,000gp, and I plan to focus mostly on planar ally.

What would be good equipment for this rakshasa?

What sources are you allowing yourself?

I avoid dragon magazine and 3rd party content, sticking mainly to the MIC and DMG, but otherwise everything should be on the table

First of all, the elite array gives +1 CR, but you can give him one level of Cleric which automatically comes with the elite array and it's also +1 CR. That makes his Magic Vestment a +2, gives him two domains, and Turn/Rebuke Undead for divine feats. Plus it should give him higher WBL. I'd also swap his Dex and Cha, since you only get +1 AC from Dex with full plate. Be sure to give him Law Devotion.

Keep in mind he may want items to boost his spells (Lesser Rod of Extend, etc.), but otherwise start here:

Lesser Rod of Extend: 3,000 gp
Masterwork Full Plate: 1,650 gp
+Restful Crystal: 500 gp
Masterwork Darkwood Heavy Shield: 257 gp
+Least Crystal of Arrow Deflection: 500 gp
Third Eye Clarity: 3,000 gp
Scout's Headband: 3,400 gp
Anklet of Translocation: 1,400 gp
Healing Belt: 750 gp
Total: 14,457 gp

Cool thanks! Out of curiosity, why darkwood for the shield? It reduces the ACP to zero and halves the weight of the shield, but a masterwork steel shield is only 1 ACP, and you need masterwork to make it darkwood anyway?

It's only an extra 100 gp, so why not?
