So doe this here http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/glossary&term=Glossary_dnd_energydrained&alpha= essentially make immunity to energy drain extend to all sources of negative levels, or is it more likely that it's just all negative levels that may result in permanent drain?

I think it can technically be read either way, but it seems to lean towards saying: "energy drain means you got negative levels, and that may end up with you losing those levels permanently if you aren't careful"

There are ways to get negative levels outside of energy drain. For example, a vampire that picks up a holy weapon would suffer one negative level so long as the weapon is held.

well originally i only saw "Energy drain" for a definition, as in the energy drain attacks. I used to be content with what you said, until i saw that "energy drain(ed)" condition had a separate definition which included negative levels from other sources than just creature attacks potentially which is why i was asking
