So I was perusing another forum and somebody made a very interesting post about the portrayal of goblins in the Order of the Stick and it raised a few interesting points that I don't think were talked about 'round these parts. In fact it made me reconsider my whole position.

Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ) is a link, if you're interested. What do you think?
GOTCHA!
(Also let's all try to avoid politics, what with the threads getting locked and all.)

Interesting.

Redcloak is not a stranger to love either romantic or otherwise and he doesn't feel he would get it from anyone but family or the Dark One which is why he is thinking of a full commitment to the Dark One which he doesn't believe he would get from any other deity - as such he believes he just has to make people understand his position and he will never give up or let the goblin people down, he will never run around and desert them or to paraphrase he will not make them cry or make them say goodbye or tell a lie and hurt them.

The problem is that Redclaok is not running the show and The Dark One might do any of those things.

As I have been mentioning for a while that the real problem that the goblins have is The Dark One I don't feel that this is a new prespective rather then an old prespective highlighted through the use of song.

Well played... Well played... though I think the points brought up in the video are valid and all, I believe that this video here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ) disproves a lot of them.

I'm not so sure.

The Giant's been pretty outspoken on this issue, and it does have a lot of applicability.

I think this post here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ) gives up some pretty good food for thought.

Interesting. I think a more relevant point however is that Redcloak has been devoid of love for so long that he has forgotten what it is entirely. As such, when he begins to doubt himself after witnessing its power, he'll finally have a successful commune with the Dark One where he nods his head in anguish and asks: "What is love? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEXWRTEbj1I)"

Well, Redcloak certainly wants the world to stop hurting him and his kind. Don't hurt them. No more.

I know this comic has been running for nearly 20 years, but that doesn't mean we need equally old memes :smallannoyed:

Do we ever do anything else?

Do you not know the classical memes are classics for a reason? (https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0424.html)
