Say I have a creature with innate Sorcerer casting (a Water Naga (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/naga.htm) in this case).

When it progresses by class levels, how can I make it more Bard-like without simply taking Bard levels, which wouldn't stack with Sorcerer casting?

Prestige Bard is not an option for this game.

Warrior Skald seems a little off, too.

I guess I could dip bard, and once I can hit the skill reqs, go into Sublime Chord? Still, that seems like a waste of the innate Sorcerer casting, aside from meeting 3rd level spell reqs.

Any thoughts?

I want to advance it's innate Sorcerer casting, but I also want it to sing and have music-related effects if possible.

Cheers - T

How about Virtuoso?

Perfect! I keep forgetting that PrC exists.

All I need now is 10 ranks in perform: Apprentice (entertainer) or Draconic Heritage (song/battle), maybe...

Art of Fascination feat, OA.

Dragonsong feat, Draconomicon.

Nonverbal Spell feat, Planar Handbook.

Haunting Melody feat, HoH/ECS, if you take Virtuoso or otherwise gain bardic music uses.

Give it one level of the Half-Fiend template class (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20031010a) (+0 CR for less than 11 HD in this case), which gives it the Outsider type and base skill points. Use the variant Half-Fiend (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060630a) rules to base it on a fiend with the class skills you want, and those become class skills for its racial HD.

Zinc Saucier (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=12670350&postcount=44) has some suggestions.

Heartfire Fanner (Dragon #314) gets you all the bardic music ability as a 5th-level bard at the first level of the prestige class.
