So, it’s been…many, many years since I used an airbrush, which was a cheapie single-action Badger, that used cans of compressed air.

But now my Polar Lights 1701 refit is calling to me, and I’d like to try my hand at airbrushing again. But I don’t know much about the market these days, and I’m not sure what brands are worth looking into.

I’m not strictly a beginner, but it’s been so long that I’m thinking a single-action is best for now. But which one? Which brand makes the best single-action airbrush these days? And should I use cans, or make the jump to a compressor?

Yeah, I want to know what a good airbrush is, mind you I'd possibly think double action unless anyone knows that's bad.

Cans are better, but in the long run more expensive, because they are propane or butane or a mix, and contain no water, so don't mess up oil based paints.
