So got Wood Elf Samurai I'm planning

Archery (Sharp Shooter + Elven accuracy of course)

I'll be jumping in the game around level 7 the group is at level 6
(got some things to take care of in life before I play )

The GM is giving us a 1000 gold to start and our choice of two stat points put how we want among are stats or a feat or a item but I've been in enough games to know a cool tot can be stolen / broken a +2 to dex it a feat is a lot harder to get rid of

So what should I take with my boon
And how should my stats and feats look to get the most out of build

Two strong options are to build it like this (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=24726630&postcount=582) or this (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=24854070&postcount=799). Use your boon to take the exact same feats those builds would normally take, but sooner. The "notes/variants" section of those posts also has extra feats worth taking if you have more feats available (such as from rolling high... or getting a DM boon), and alternate ways to build effectively.

I see you discuss (in a linked post) multiclassing into Gloom Stalker; have you considered Fey Wanderer? Big sellers are Wisdom counting twice for charisma skills and dreadful strikes applying to every shot if you're shooting up a horde.

If I were playing this I would be inclined to go: 12 17 14 8 14 10 to start, bonus feat Elven Accuracy. I'd use a longbow personally (because Elf), but you'll do more damage with a hand crossbow. Get Sharpshooter at level 4 and crossbow expert (for shooting in melee) at level 6. Take one level of rogue in there somewhere and get expertise in athletics and one other skill (stealth seems thematic, but if your party doesn't have a rogue, you could be the lockpick too, or perception master, or even expertise in persuasion if you want to be a decent face), plus an additional 1d6 sneak attack damage once/attack.

If you find yourself next to someone, you can always use one of you attacks from your attack action to shove them prone. Once prone, you can start shooting with Elven Accuracy. With expertise in athletics, you will have a decent athletics skill (+7) at 7th level. Find some gauntlets of Ogre power and hit level 9, and your athletics shoots to +12. I like the visual of a elven archer tripping an opponent the shooting them point-blank in the face.

Level 8 I'd either go rogue 2 (if you aren't using a hand crossbow and want a something to do with every bonus action) or try to get up to Fighter 11 for the 3 attacks/round. Next ASI take +2 dex to get to 20 (You won't miss it too much with +2 from Archery fighting style and the 3 rolls for attacks). If you find yourself in melee trouble too often, that bonus action disengage from Rogue 2 (after your successful sweep attack) might be a lifesaver.

If the campaign is going high enough, I'd be inclined to stick samurai for most of the levels to get the 3x and 4x attacks/turn.
