It looks like a lion but I'm not sure. I'd rather it be a tiger since they are stronger, plus there's already a write-up for a weretiger. lol

Shoulderpads are not considered a seperate enchantable piece of equipment/armor are they?

definitely looks like a Lion Man. The mane gives it away. Lions and Tigers dont look much alike.

I thought they were tigers? Or are you just joking?

Rakshasas are humanoid and tiger-headed - but they have one big difference. Reversed hands. A rakshasa has what looks like a left hand on its right wrist, and what looks like a right hand on its left wrist.

Whereas the character in the picture, looks like it has the appropriate hand for the appropriate wrist.

This guy seems mostly lion-like, though the stripes on his muzzle do seem more tiger-ish.

As for his armor, I'd say that it's probably full plate.

Nah, he's actually a cheetah, because judging by his feet it doesn't look like his claws are retractable (the hands aren't much help, because he has humanoid fingernails, although, as far as I know, those aren't retractable either!).

For what it is worth, according to the etsy store, it is a lionfolk.

I'll take it one step further with the version from Signum Games, it includes a description where Kojo/Kodjo is specifically referred to as a lion. (https://signumgames.com/store/characters/kojo-the-wanderer-warrior-dnd-rpg-miniature-collectibles/#tab-description)

Could easly be a Were-lion, Were-tiger, Rakshasa, Catfolk or other creature. Could be a Litoran from Arcana Unearthed.

Some artists take a lot of artistic license with their creations. I've seen many Raskshasa illustrations that completely ignore the reversed hands.

As to the mane, again, with artistic license, could be a tiger with dreadlocks. Tigers don't have manes, it's true; they also aren't bipedal and don't wield weapons. :smalltongue:

Rakshasas are humanoid and tiger-headed

FWIW I think D&D 4e introduced a slew of variant rakshasas based on different big cats.

Looks like a lion man. 3.5 Actually has several variant Rakshasas too, I think all (or at least most) still have the backwards hands though.

In non-D&D myth, Raskshasa aren't limited to feline forms: IIRC apes and possibly rodents were also represented.

In 3E, there are the following Rakshasa variants that I know of:

Raskasha MM1 (tiger)
Rakshasa, Ak'chazar MM3 (white tiger)
Rakshasa, Naztharune MM3 (described as tiger-like, but art looks more like a canine, or maybe a panther/black leopard)
Rakshasa, Zakya ECS (tiger)
Naityan Rakshasa ToB (different apescts: tiger, reptilian (?) and stone totem (?))
