Real simple question... can you take spells off a sub class list or is it just off the core class?

Ie could you take say faerie fire of the light cleric list?

Thanks

No-not without houseruling it.

On the other hand, there are very, very few spells that don't appear on one of the Magic Initiate-accessible lists, so you could, for instance, take Faerie Fire off of the druid list. Though that would mean that your two cantrips would also have to be druid spells, rather than cleric spells.

Well, for druid and cleric that's ok because they have the same casting stat. But for most other liets your cantrips may suddenly be keying off your dump stat.
