A day late is better than never, sorry about the delay!

This is the voting thread for the fifteenth 5e base class contest Contest XV: Partial Casters (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?628967-D-amp-D-5e-Base-Class-Contest-XV-Partial-Casters)!

The rules are simple. Vote for your top three picks, in order. You can't vote for yourself. A number 1 vote is worth 3 points, a number 2 vote is worth 2, and a number 3 vote is worth one. You can (and are encouraged) to vote even if you didn't submit an entry this time around.

The theme for next contest was decided in a tie last time around, so start brainstorming for Divine Judgment if you want!

The voting period will be three weeks, ending at the end of the day on June 27th. The following day I will tally these results and declare a winner. For the curious, the tiebreakers I will be using are:

1st tiebreaker is whether both participants voted. If one did not, they lose the tie.
2nd tiebreaker is total number of 1st place votes. The entry which got more 1st place votes will win the tie.
There is no 3rd tiebreaker. If both entrants voted and both entries reached their total score with the same number of 1st place votes, the tie will stand.

Here are my voting preferences!

3rd place - The Manabound - The use of Hit Dice is really interesting. the subclasses cover all the roles and are characterized well, even if maybe not all the features leave their mark. A great alternative to the Paladin, I put him in third place only because the Paladin has never intrigued me as much as other classes. ^^

2nd place - The Street Mage - Mixture of bard (a jack of all trades) and rogue (sneak attack), interesting the cantrip version of the sneak attack. Even if the subclasses seem very uninspired to me, the mechanics of the tricks are cool. Maybe I would have merged them into a single mechanic. Cheat Luck feels a bit OP, and maybe some features should have a usage limit, but overall seems interesting.

1st place - The Grenadier - It sounds funny, it vaguely reminds me of my Pilot from a few contests ago. Perhaps it does not completely reflect the theme of the contest, but it falls within more than acceptable limits. Although the class is mainly a damage dealer, there are also formulas with some interesting utility features. The ability of the sapper to be able to hide mines is very cool.

I'm reading the various entries as thoroughly as possible. The link of the Street Mage actually leads to the Genie, an entry of the Contest XIV: Monster Mash II.

Thanks for the heads up, I have fixed it.

I guess I'll start.

1. Grenadier - Looks playable and fun.
2. Manabound - I really enjoy the concept here.
3. Wilder - The two-tiered system for handling psionic powers is a good solution.

1)Spellslinger - Strong (possibly slightly too strong, but I'm probably not the one to decide that)
2)Street Mage - A tad rough around the edges but still a thoroughly enjoyable cantrip focused class.
3)Grenadier - This is just fun, plain and simple.

Firstly to everyone, I love what has come out of this. It feels like I am being really petty as I search for ever smaller reasons to cut entries from the list here. Still... there can be only three.

1) The spellblade. A neat concept, executed well. I admire that you did this in a way that was totally different to how I would have done it, yet still I wouldn't mind playing with it.

2) The Spellslinger. A core interesting package with a lot of additional abilities to keep in interesting. I have some balance concerns with expanded spell-lists, and a few other options, but at its heart this seems great.

3) The grenadier. A different take and I love the imagination here.

1. The Spellslinger: I like how much it can do with low level spells. Magic Missile upcasting is one of my favorite functions of 5e.
2. The Psionicist: I didn't read all the disciplines, but from what I can see you have a really cool system going on here.
3. The Street Mage: I like the way the subclasses work.

Good entries by everyone, it was hard to pick just three. See you all in a few days for Divine Judgment!

Sorry for the late reply, PNW heat wave is oppressive.

1. Spell Slinger
2. Manabound
3. Spellblade

Okay I'm back in action, so here's the votes tally and I'll make the new chat and contest thread for Divine Judgment shortly.

We had a tie by points for 3rd place; however as sengmeng did not cast a vote and MrStabby did, MrStabby wins via the first tiebreaker.

In 3rd place, earning 5 points, we have MrStabby's Manabound! Turn hit dice into spells! Turn spells into hit points! Be the magic you wish to see in the world.

In 2nd place, earning 8 points, we have MoleMage's Grenadier! Show the world that alchemy has a practical side with bombs and enhanced ammunition.

And in 1st place, earning 10 points total, we have Damon_Tor's Spellslinger. Magic Missile never felt quite so good.

Excellent work all around everyone! We had our next contest locked in already, but we'll need a new one in a couple months so get your voting caps ready. Divine Judgment coming soon.

Glad to hear that you are doing well!

Congratulations to everyone!

Thanks! It was routine stuff (well, not routine as in predictable in a personal sense, but medically common enough that treatment is low risk high effectiveness), so I was in as good a position as someone who has to be checked in overnight could be. I'm almost back to 100% and should reach that in a couple more days.
