Dear moderator squad,

due to a recent discussion in Friendly Banter thread, would it be possible to open a discussion thread for a specific streamer's content?

My understanding is, that there are no gray areas - if the discussion is about the content and the streams, kept respectable and friendly, it should be fine. And if the streamer decides to join the discussion, it's still fine. The only problem could be if they tried to solicit donations or do a direct advertisement.

Is this correct?

Would announcing further streams (e.g. games they plan to stream) be an issue?

Also: thank you for your hard work.

Sheriff: You seem to have it right. If you want to start a thread to talk about some online content, that's fine. If the maker of that content wants to show up and talk about it, that's fine, too. If they want to say what games they're doing next or ask what games people would like to see done next, that's fine.

If you two are working together to essentially advertise, that's something else. And if the content creator starts using the thread to advertise, that's also a problem. It's going to be up to the moderators to decide what level and type of activity by the content creator becomes advertising, so posters are encourage to err on the side of caution.

And, of course, all posts have to abide by the rules about flaming/trolling, inappropriate topics, etc.
