Is there an item/spell/ability that would allow a bard to center his music elsewhere? Like through a familiar, for instance

You could get a Harmonizing Dancing weapon, although that does stay in your square, it doesn't say how high.

Wouldn't https://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/ventriloquism.htm be enough?

I don't know of anything to project bardic music to a different point of origin, but Song and Silence gives unique bardic music bonuses to a variety of instruments that may be of interest. The instrument must be masterwork, and a bard may choose to benefit from the instrument's bardic music property instead of gaining the usual +2 bonus granted by the masterwork instrument.
As a random example, playing an alphorn allows your bardic music to carry 1d10 miles. This doesn't change the point of origin for your bardic music, but it should make range and coverage of your effects in most scenarios a complete non-issue. The spell fortissimo doubles the volume of a creature or object, allowing the sound to travel farther. Bonus points for combining the alphorn and fortissimo with subsonics to silently buff a 20-mile radius.

Check that:
Dragon #339 have the Speaker's Trumpet - it allow you to be heard by everybody within 100' (even through the silence!)
Dragon #317 have the Ventriloquist's Mouthpiece and Shell of Amplification; the former gives Ventriloquism at will; the latter doesn't works through silence, but radius is 200'
